Nguyen Van Toan has not played for Seoul E-Land in the past 3 months. The last time he played in Korea was in June 2023 in a match against Busan I-Park. Van Toan was injured after the FIFA Days training session in June of the Vietnamese team.

The player born in 1996 added: “ I am very happy to return to the national team this time. During the time abroad, I did not meet many Vietnamese people, so I was quite sad. In Korea, I rarely talked, because after practice, I returned home alone. Coming back here to meet my brothers, I feel more motivated, people ask more questions, talk more.”
Van Toan said his team practices in the morning, starting at 10:30 and ending at 14:00. The former HAGL player eats lunch with the team and cooks dinner himself. This player maintains his practice and keeps his spirit up despite facing a lot of pressure.
This is Van Toan's second training session with the Vietnam national team under coach Troussier. Regarding professional matters, the striker from Hai Duong said: " I am getting used to coach Troussier's philosophy. Although I don't have much time, I have begun to understand and gradually adapt to the team's playing style.
Of course, working with a new coach will be difficult, but I think I also need to change my playing style to suit ."
