Artists and celebrities under public pressure
The story of artists and celebrities being called for boycotts and attacks is no longer strange in the Vietnamese entertainment industry and countries like Korea and China.
On the positive side, the presence of anti-fans helps artists and other figures in the entertainment industry recognize their shortcomings in order to improve themselves and better meet the public’s needs. This also helps the entertainment industry “cleanse” the tricks in showbiz.

However, Sina page believes that sometimes blind thinking makes fans unintentionally become bullies, abusing fan power to create negative attacks, causing psychological damage.
The excesses of anti-fans also push artists into dangerous situations, even willing to give up their lives.
Most recently, the news that hot girl Chu Thanh Huyen - Quang Hai's girlfriend was hospitalized in critical condition is the clearest proof of this. Ms. Gia Han (Chu Thanh Huyen's sister) said that the reason for Thanh Huyen's suicide was due to long-term pressure due to baseless rumors from the online community.
According to the investigation, at around 4pm on July 6, Thanh Huyen drank 10 packs of sleeping pills (80 pills) to commit suicide. Luckily, the family of the hot girl born in 1994 was able to take her to the emergency room in time, she has overcome the critical stage.
Recently, after being crowned, the new Miss World Vietnam 2023 Huynh Tran Y Nhi has continuously become the focus of criticism for her statements.
Although the contest organizers and the beauty queen have apologized twice for their statements, the wave of criticism against her has not decreased, and is even tending to become "cyber violence".
Under the posts on the Miss World Vietnam homepage, Y Nhi received many criticisms and attacks on her appearance.
Currently, dozens of anti-her groups have been created on Facebook, with the number of members constantly increasing. At its peak, one group had more than 300,000 members.
In these groups, accounts continuously post articles criticizing every move of the new beauty queen. From her apologies to her charity work, she is also accused of being fake and "whitewashing" herself. In the comments section of those articles, there are a series of negative and sarcastic opinions about the beauty queen's appearance and personality.
Not only in groups, anti-fans also flooded the homepage of Miss World Vietnam, leaving many harsh comments, criticizing her appearance, demanding to dethrone her because they thought she was not worthy of the title.
Before Y Nhi, Doan Thien An, Bao Ngoc, Huong Giang... were Vietnamese beauty queens who were attacked by anti-fans and boycotted by groups on social networks.
Specifically, Miss Bao Ngoc was criticized by the public for allegedly outshining Miss Mai Phuong, choosing a more gorgeous dress to wear during the "final walk" (the last performance steps in the current position) in the final night of Miss World Vietnam 2023.
Miss Doan Thien An had her personal photos posted, along with countless comments criticizing her appearance in anti-fan groups.

Speaking with Giao Thong Newspaper, lawyer Tran Xuan Tien - Head of Dong Doi Law Office (Hanoi Bar Association) said that setting up anti-celebrity and anti-artist groups to provide false information, insult the honor, dignity or cause damage to the rights and legitimate interests of others is a violation of the law.
Depending on the nature, extent and consequences of the act, the violator may be subject to administrative sanctions or criminal prosecution.
On July 29, Miss Ý Nhi cried and apologized for controversial statements about herself and her boyfriend after her coronation.

In addition to regulations on administrative sanctions, cases where people post false information on social networks with signs of criminality and cause serious consequences may also be considered for criminal prosecution for crimes corresponding to the behavior.
In particular, if there is an act of using computer networks or telecommunications networks, electronic means to fabricate or spread things that are clearly known to be untrue in order to seriously insult the dignity, honor or cause damage to the rights and legitimate interests of others, one may be prosecuted for criminal liability for the crime of slander according to Clause 2, Article 156 of the Penal Code .

Lawyer Tien said that to prevent and reduce cyber violence, authorities need to strengthen monitoring and management of information on social networks.
From there, promptly detect and handle bad, toxic statements and information that violate the honor and dignity of others on social networks, contributing to building a safe and healthy cyberspace, ensuring good service for activities, information and propaganda, and orientation of public opinion.
"For social network users, it is necessary to know how to select and use information, behave in accordance with ethical standards and legal regulations; at the same time, they should not provide or spread unverified or false information.
On the celebrity side, if there is a scandal, big or small, they are the ones who suffer the most because the audience turns their backs on them, and more seriously, it affects the image of a country.
Therefore, as public figures, stars and celebrities need to be careful in their activities and speech in front of crowds and cameras to ensure standards are met," said lawyer Tien.
From a media perspective, expert Hang Nguyen believes that for young artists, especially newly crowned beauty queens, communication skills with the media are still limited.
"Meanwhile, dealing with the media has never been an easy task, and it's easy to slip up. Even "experienced" artists in showbiz can hardly avoid this incident if they encounter a difficult question.
"Who should be wise but not foolish sometimes?". For Y Nhi, her journey is still long. I believe that after this incident, the beauty queen and her team have learned a lesson," Ms. Hang expressed.
