"Top scorer" shines
The first semi-final match between Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Dong Nai University of Technology was very dramatic as the players of both teams clearly understood each other's strengths and weaknesses due to having faced each other in the group stage. Knowing that the strength of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports lies in the attack line, where the number 1 striker Nguyen Minh Nhat, also the reigning top scorer, is in good form, coach Le Huu Phat assigned Nguyen Tuan Khoa to closely mark this striker like a shadow.
Minh Nhat's joy
Being "taken care of" by the opponent, Nguyen Minh Nhat encountered many difficulties and had to move continuously to find the ball. Creating an overwhelming and completely overwhelming position compared to the opponent and also creating many opportunities, Nguyen Minh Nhat and his teammates could not penetrate the defense of Dong Nai University of Technology, which applied the tactic of retreating deep into the home field to defend. The team from the Southeast region also had some impressive counter-attacks, thanks to the efforts of captain Dang Duy Truong. In a rather deadlocked attacking situation, Nguyen Minh Nhat showed the sharpness of the tournament's top scorer when he made a skillful move, received a pass from his teammate and finished off the goalkeeper of Dong Nai University of Technology. This valuable goal in the 73rd minute helped the team of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports win 1-0, earning the right to participate in the final match of the TNSV THACO Cup 2024 (3:30 p.m. on March 31). With this goal, Nguyen Minh Nhat raised his total number of goals in the tournament to 5, leading the top scorer tournament.

"Because I was closely marked by my opponent, I had to move constantly to find the ball. Thanks to my quick movements and good teammate support, I scored," Nguyen Minh Nhat shared after the match. Meanwhile, coach Pham Thai Vinh said: "This was a difficult match because the opponent actively played defensively while we wanted to settle the match in regulation time. The players of Dong Nai University of Technology showed signs of fatigue in the second half and the team of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports successfully achieved the set goal."
Full stadium, home team still lost the match
The second semi-final match between Ton Duc Thang University and Thuy Loi University was very exciting with more than 6,000 spectators of the home team and a large number of fans who were students of the People's Police University. The current runner-up, Thuy Loi University, with a more balanced force, dominated the home team. Coach Vu Van Trung and his team still proved to be especially dangerous in set pieces.

"Foreign soldier" Oluka Praisegod of Ton Duc Thang University put the ball into the opponent's net in the first half, but the goal was not recognized due to offside. The match became even more exciting from the 50th minute, when the Water Resources University team had to play with one less player.
