U23 Vietnam gets familiar with the Southeast Asian tournament field

The reason why the team’s coaching board organized this activity is because AFF does not allow teams to practice on the field to ensure the quality of the grass for the matches in the tournament. This is also common in tournaments with high competition density in the same stadium.

Players get acquainted with the field

Although they did not get to practice getting used to the field, visiting Rayong Provincial Stadium and walking on the grass helped the players have a better sense of the competition space, thereby having the necessary initiative when entering the opening match against U23 Laos on the afternoon of August 20.

According to the Coaching Board, Rayong Provincial Stadium is quite similar to Binh Duong Stadium in Vietnam, so it is not unfamiliar to most of the U23 Vietnam players. The important thing is that the players need to be confident in their preparation to be able to enter the tournament with the highest form, making every effort to complete the journey at the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.

U23 Vietnam participated in the tournament as the defending champions.

This afternoon, the U23 Vietnam team will have their last training session before the opening match in Group C. Also today, coach Hoang Anh Tuan will make the final decision on the official list of 23 players.

At the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 tournament, U23 Vietnam is in Group C with U23 Laos and U23 Philippines. The U23 Vietnam squad participating in the tournament is a collection of core players, mostly U20, combined with a number of U23 players. This will also be the Vietnam Olympic team participating in the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou (China) next September.
