"If Vietnam meets Thailand again in the final, the match will be very different this time. Both teams have high fighting spirit. It will be a final match of top quality ," coach Issara Sritaro answered the question about whether U22 Thailand and U22 Vietnam can meet again in the men's football final of the 32nd SEA Games.
Both teams were assured of a place in the semi-finals before the final round. Therefore, tonight's match (May 11) is just a formality to determine the rankings. U22 Vietnam and U22 Thailand were evenly matched in a match where both sides had good opportunities.

"A draw is a good result because in the end we finished top of the group and achieved our goal. This was a difficult match for both teams. Overall, I am satisfied with this match," said the head coach of Thailand U22.
U22 Thailand took an early lead in the match that decided the top spot in the group with U22 Vietnam. From an unfortunate slip by Luong Duy Cuong, Achitpol Keereerom seized the opportunity to get past goalkeeper Doan Huy Hoang to score.
However, after this goal, U22 Thailand was at a disadvantage against U22 Vietnam. The team from the land of the golden pagoda conceded a goal in the beginning of the second half, then faced several dangerous attacks from U22 Vietnam but still maintained a draw.

Coach Sritaro admitted that his players did not play well in the second half of the match. At that time, U22 Thailand changed the lineup to save the players' energy.
"We played well in the first half, but in the second half we lost balance," said coach Sritaro. He did not complain about the referee. This was a match where the two teams had many fierce battles.
With a 1-1 draw, U22 Thailand topped Group B of men's football at the 32nd SEA Games. The team from the Golden Temple will meet U22 Myanmar in the semi-finals.
