(Dan Tri) - On the morning of March 22, U17 Vietnam officially finalized the list of players to go to Oman for training before participating in the U17 Asian tournament. This is an important tournament when deciding the ticket to attend the World Cup.
Coach Cristiano Roland has finalized the list of 26 U17 Vietnam players who will go to Oman for training. Before leaving, the Brazilian coach eliminated 4 players: goalkeeper Chu Ba Huan (Hanoi), defender Pham Minh Quan (Ba Ria Vung Tau), midfielder Bui Tuan Anh (Hanoi), and striker Dau Quang Hung (Ba Ria Vung Tau).

Previously, he said goodbye to goalkeeper Ly Xuan Hoa (PVF Youth Football Training Center), defender Tran Hoang Viet (Hanoi), Nguyen Van Phuc (Hong Linh Ha Tinh) and especially overseas Vietnamese midfielder Thomas Mai Veeren (HV Quick).
According to the plan, during the training period in Oman, the Vietnam U17 team will have two friendly matches with the Oman U17 team, on March 25 and March 28 respectively. This is a valuable opportunity for the players to get used to the intensity of international competition before the official tournament.
Sharing about the team's preparation process, coach Cristiano Roland said: "In this training session, Vietnam U17 has new players besides the team that competed in the U17 Asian qualifiers. The two matches in Oman will be an opportunity to have the best preparation for the 2025 U17 Asian tournament.
The lessons learned during the recent training camp have been important for the team. The players are gradually getting a better grasp of the playing style, how to deploy the ball, and how to coordinate with each other.
There is still a lot to do and we will try to improve through each match. The most important thing is that I see confidence in each player. They have a good attitude and are on the right track in preparing for the 2025 AFC U17 Championship."

After the training camp in Oman, the team will leave for Saudi Arabia on March 29 to participate in the U17 Asian Cup. We will be in the same group with Japan, Australia and UAE.
Notably, due to the increase of the U17 World Cup to 48 teams, Asia has 8 slots. That means that the U17 Vietnam team only needs to win one of the two leading positions in the group stage to have a ticket to the World Cup.
According to the schedule, U17 Vietnam will play its opening match against U17 Australia on April 4. After that, coach Cristiano Roland's team will face Japan on April 7 and UAE on April 10.
