This morning (May 29), at Binh Tay market (District 6, Ho Chi Minh City), a representative of the Department of Transport handed over the decision to announce the tourist transport route by open-top double-decker bus (double-decker bus) on the Saigon - Cho Lon City Tour route to Anh Viet Hop on - Hop off Vietnam Company Limited for operation.
The double-decker open-top bus departs from Saigon Bus Station and Pham Ngu Lao Street (District 1) and travels through 25 routes to connect Districts 5 and 6, covering a total distance of 20km. The duration of a non-stop tour on the bus is approximately 2 hours, with a frequency of 30 minutes/trip.
According to the route, this bus route has 15 "hop on - hop off" stops to pick up and drop off passengers. Tourists will pass by attractions such as ancient architectural clusters: Nghia An Assembly Hall - Ong Pagoda, Tue Thanh Assembly Hall - Ba Thien Hau Pagoda, Minh Huong Gia Thanh Communal House, Quynh Phu Assembly Hall - Ba Hai Nam Pagoda, Nhi Phu Assembly Hall - Ong Bon Pagoda, Cha Tam Church, Cho Quan Parish Church, Cho Lon Mosque, ancient houses on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street...
At the same time, visitors can also pass through historical relics and landmarks such as: Uncle Ho Memorial House, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, City Theater, Nguyen Hue Street, Truong Vinh Ky Mausoleum and Memorial House (also known as Petrus Ky Mausoleum), Tran Phu Street Painting Area, Dong Khanh Hotel, Hao Si Phuong, Western Quarter... Previously, Ho Chi Minh City piloted two open-top double-decker bus routes for tourists, including DL01 (operating from 2019) and DL02 (2022), with ticket prices ranging from 100,000-500,000 VND/person depending on travel time and accompanying services.
Statistics show that by the end of the first quarter of 2024, these routes have served about 317,000 tourists.
