Things are not looking good around Gareth Southgate’s team headquarters. In addition to facing public pressure – criticism from the media, experts and fans for their disappointing performance, England also has difficulty with their squad.

With no proper left-back available, Trippier was preferred by Southgate over Liverpool's Joe Gomez. The 33-year-old suffered cramp in England's 1-0 win over Serbia, but still played the full 90 minutes.
According to the Telegraph, Trippier has actually had a calf problem since the start of the season, although it is unclear whether this is related to the issue that kept him out of action for Newcastle earlier in the season.
To avoid things getting worse, Southgate has reportedly taken precautions, with Joe Gomez and Ezri Konsa often swapping left-back positions in training.
Three Lions fans were unhappy to hear the news, concerned about the lack of depth at full-back, with Southgate still opting for the fitness-challenged Luke Shaw and ignoring Crystal Palace's Tyrick Mitchell or Man City's Rico Lewis.
