Subject Huynh Nam Quoc at the Ward Police Station
According to initial information, at around 8:30 p.m. on April 3, Ms. Nguyen Thi T. (born in 1979, residing in Hoa Thanh hamlet) went to My Thanh ward police station to report the theft of 65 million VND. The ward police checked the suspects in the area and invited Quoc to the headquarters for questioning. At around 11 p.m. the same day, the suspect admitted to having broken into Ms. T.'s house to steal the above amount of money.
Quoc confessed that Mrs. T. was a neighbor who often locked the door to go shopping from morning to night, and there was no one watching the house. On the morning of April 3, Quoc used a stainless steel chair (about 70cm high) to climb through the ventilation hole into the back of Mrs. T.'s house. Discovering money in her handbag and red envelopes, Quoc took it and quickly escaped. With the stolen money, Quoc bought a mobile phone, bluetooth headset, charger; spent about 15 million VND on personal expenses and drugs. Quoc hid the remaining money behind a mirror in the bathroom of a neighbor's house. Afterwards, he handed over the money to the ward police, a total of 43.1 million VND.
