After a period of monitoring and synchronous application of professional measures, on July 24, 2023, the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Police presided over and coordinated with relevant units of the Ministry of Public Security and Nghe An Police to deploy many working groups with dozens of officers and soldiers to raid locations and arrest 17 subjects.
The leader of this gambling ring is Nguyen Tuan Dung (born in 1982), residing in Trung Do ward, Vinh city. Dung formed and operated a system of minions in his gambling ring in many areas in Vinh city and Hung Nguyen district.
Among the arrested subjects, 16 subjects resided in Vinh city, 01 subject resided in Hung Nguyen district. Through the search, the authorities temporarily seized 120 million VND in cash, 25 mobile phones, 3 lottery cables and some other evidence.
This is a high-tech gambling ring, organized and operated in a secretive and sophisticated manner with many tricks to erase traces of the crime. The amount of money the subjects used for gambling fluctuated from 800 million to 1 billion VND/day.
