“FABRICA” is a vivid artistic experience, illustrating the history and development of Italian textile art. The exhibition offers a creative journey of fabrics and installation modules, from high-end fashion fabrics to modern fabrics made from natural fibers. On the afternoon of May 20, the exhibition “Italian Textiles - Style and Innovation” (FABRICA) officially opened in Hanoi. The exhibition is organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Fashion Industry Federation - “Sistema Moda Italia”, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) and the Italian Association of Small and Medium-sized Crafts - “Confartigianato Imprese” in collaboration with Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Speaking at the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to Vietnam Marco Della Seta said that today, textiles are the foundation of bilateral trade and investment. In 2023, the value of Italy's textile exports to Vietnam reached 309 million USD. Meanwhile, Italy's imports from Vietnam amounted to 335 million USD.

FABRICA is a visual and tactile artistic journey that traces the history and evolution of Italian textile production through a series of panels and six different interactive installations, created by a network of more than 20 companies in the sector. The exhibition modules document the richness and diversity of Italian production, from fabrics for haute couture and furniture to the most modern applications such as fabrics made from natural fibers and waste materials.

Associate Professor Dr. Bui Van Huan, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Textiles, Footwear and Fashion, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, also said that within the framework of the exhibition, Hanoi University of Science and Technology also coordinated with Carvico Hung Yen Textile and Dyeing Company and Madex Vietnam Company to organize a workshop dedicated to the textile industry. Through the event, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, one of the leading universities in the country in science and technology, including the textile industry, to the public and international friends. The exhibition will be open until Sunday (June 2).
