This information was shared by Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa at a press conference on the city's socio-economic situation on the afternoon of August 29.

Responding to a question from a reporter from Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper about why the Indian tourist group chose Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Quang Ninh instead of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa said: “Ho Chi Minh City once welcomed a group of Indian tourists of over 1,200 people in 2022. However, the trend of international tourists is to often choose the capital of a country to visit first, then go to big cities like Ho Chi Minh City.”
Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa also emphasized that India is one of the important tourism markets with a fast growth rate, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, when tourists from China decreased. Ho Chi Minh City has the advantage of many direct flights to India and a restaurant system that meets the culinary needs of Indian visitors. Therefore, the city has been and is preparing to welcome large international tourist groups.

According to Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism will organize the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair 2024 (ITE HCMC 2024), taking place from September 5-7 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (District 7). This is expected to be one of the most influential tourism fairs in Asia, attracting the participation of many leading organizations and businesses in the world. Within the framework of the fair, there will be seminars, including a seminar on attracting tourists from India.
