Summary of voluntary blood donation work in 2024

In 2024, the Provincial Blood Donation Mobilization Steering Committee effectively implemented the Blood Donation Campaign on the occasion of Tet and the "Pink Spring Festival" in 2024. Regularly urging and reminding the Steering Committees of districts, cities, and departments, and branches to participate in blood donation as planned. Strengthening communication work with many diverse and rich forms so that people clearly understand the profound humanitarian meaning of blood donation to save lives... Thanks to that, during the year, the whole province had over 9,500 people participating in blood donation, collecting more than 8,000 units of blood, reaching 121% of the set target. Among them, there were many typical examples in the blood donation movement, some people donated blood more than 40 times, many families with husband, wife, children, and grandchildren participating in blood donation many times, meeting the needs in emergency and medical treatment.

Speaking at the conference, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the agencies, units, collectives, individuals and families who have done a good job in donating blood; at the same time, requested the Red Cross Society, the Steering Committee for Donating Blood at all levels and sectors as well as agencies and units to coordinate synchronously, enhance responsibility in closely directing the work of donating blood, striving to collect 8,500 units of blood by 2025; strengthen propaganda work with many forms and diverse and rich content to mobilize and call on people to participate in donating blood. The Provincial General Hospital needs to invest in equipment and personnel to improve the capacity of blood collection, storage, management, use of blood and screening of blood products, promptly supplying blood to patients when needing blood transfusion; The Red Cross Society should effectively implement the regulations on honoring and rewarding blood, paying attention to the management and monitoring of individuals and families who donate blood many times, and groups with achievements in the work of mobilizing blood donation.
