On the morning of December 12, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of its Traditional Day (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and receive the First Class Independence Medal.

Attending the ceremony were General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.
Also attending were General Phan Van Giang - Minister of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and many leaders and former leaders of the Party and State.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam congratulated and commended the outstanding achievements, remarkable growth and glorious tradition of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army over the past 80 years.
General Secretary To Lam expressed his joy and excitement when realizing that over the past years, the General Department of Politics has continuously promoted its glorious tradition, raised its will, overcome all difficulties and challenges, and excellently completed its assigned tasks.
The General Secretary also affirmed that along with successfully completing political tasks, the General Department of Politics has focused on building a clean, strong, exemplary Party organization, building a comprehensively strong agency that is "exemplary, exemplary", internally united and united; effectively participating in revolutionary action movements and campaigns of the Party and State, actively contributing to the development of the country and the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
He believed that from the feats and outstanding achievements gained in 80 years of construction, fighting, growth and development, under the leadership and direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat and regularly and directly by the Central Military Commission; the coordination, cooperation and assistance of central and local departments, ministries, branches, mass organizations, and agencies and units inside and outside the army, the General Department of Politics will increasingly mature and become stronger, constantly promote its glorious tradition, excellently complete all assigned tasks, worthy of the special affection and trust of the Party, State and people.
Faced with new and extremely difficult and heavy requirements and tasks, in order to well perform its great functions and responsibilities, the General Secretary requested the General Department of Politics, political agencies and political cadres in the entire army to inherit and constantly promote the fine traditions of the nation, of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and the glorious traditions of the General Department of Politics, strengthen solidarity, unity, proactiveness, creativity, and strive to well perform assigned tasks in all situations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet affirmed that throughout its 80-year glorious history, our army has nurtured, screened and forged generations of military officers in general and political officers in particular who are truly exemplary in political qualities, intelligence and practical organizational capacity, exemplary in ethics and lifestyle, and trusted and admired by comrades and people.
"The great dedication of cadres, employees and soldiers in charge of Party and political work in the entire army has contributed to building the glorious tradition of: Loyalty - Steadfastness; Exemplary - Typical; Principled - Democratic; Proactive - Creative; Sensitive - Sharp; Solidarity - Unity; Determination to Fight - Determination to Win of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army", Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet emphasized.
