The General Secretary especially thanked the efforts of the Ambassador and staff of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam in supporting the transfer of the Abdala vaccine and sending Cuban medical experts to support Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the afternoon of November 7, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen on the occasion of the Ambassador's end of his term of office.

General Secretary To Lam congratulated and highly appreciated the positive contributions of Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen during his term of office, especially welcoming and thanking the efforts of the Ambassador and the staff of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam in supporting the transfer of the Abdala vaccine and sending Cuban medical experts to support Vietnam at the most difficult time of the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating the deep attachment and sharing between the two brotherly nations.

General Secretary To Lam reaffirmed the consistent policy of the Party, State and people of Vietnam to attach great importance to and be determined to do everything possible within their capacity, together with the Party, State and people of Cuba, to continuously expand and deepen the traditional solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for the cause of building socialism and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the world.

General Secretary To Lam recalled the deep impressions and very important results achieved during the State visit to the Republic of Cuba by the General Secretary and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation; emphasized the high-level consensus of the leaders of the two Parties and States on the orientations and priority areas of cooperation: agriculture, energy, trade, biotechnology, while promoting close cooperation in the fields of security, defense, foreign affairs and exchange activities between sectors, levels and people of the two countries.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his satisfaction that cooperation between relevant ministries and sectors of the two countries is progressing positively to promptly and effectively implement priority cooperation projects.

Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen thanked General Secretary To Lam for taking the time to receive the Ambassador and especially for the General Secretary's personal deep concern for the continuous consolidation and tightening of the special friendship between the two brotherly countries, and emphasized the great honor of being assigned to work in Vietnam.

The Ambassador was pleased to report to General Secretary To Lam on the main results of his term of office and the contributions of the Ambassador and staff of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam in consolidating the special friendship between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries, constantly tightening the trustful political relationship, promoting high-level visits and cooperation activities between ministries, branches and localities of the two countries, removing difficulties and obstacles, advising and participating in promoting priority areas of cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen emphasized the historical symbolic significance of General Secretary To Lam's recent State visit to Cuba; expressed his high agreement with General Secretary To Lam's assessments and directions on the orientations and priority areas of cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

On this occasion, the Ambassador reaffirmed the policy of the Cuban Party and State to attach special importance to the relationship of trust with Vietnam, determined to accompany, cooperate and develop together, actively implement high-level agreements and diverse exchange and cooperation activities in the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year 2025.

On this occasion, through Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen, General Secretary To Lam sent his best regards to First Secretary and President Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez, Revolutionary Leader, General Raul Castro Ruz and other high-ranking leaders of the Cuban Party and State; reiterated the invitation to First Secretary and President Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez and Revolutionary Leader, General Raul Castro Ruz to visit Vietnam again in 2025 to celebrate important events in the bilateral relationship./.
