On January 2, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department honored and thanked 37 outstanding and typical enterprises in import-export activities in 2024. The enterprises honored at the conference are those that comply well with Customs laws, creating a huge source of revenue for the Ho Chi Minh City budget and the Customs sector.

According to Mr. Do Thanh Quang, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, 2024 is the 9th year that Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department has implemented the plan to develop customs-business partnership. Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department has proactively developed and implemented many practical programs and action plans with the motto "Taking the satisfaction of people and businesses as a measure for all activities of the Customs agency".

In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department chaired and coordinated the organization of 29 contact, meeting, and dialogue activities and 13 training, dissemination, and propaganda activities on customs laws and policies for the business community in the city.

In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department has achieved positive results such as: the number of enterprises carrying out customs procedures reached more than 69,052 enterprises, an increase of 4.21%; total import-export turnover reached more than 132 billion USD, an increase of 10% over the same period in 2023 (ranked 2nd and accounting for about 17% of the total import-export turnover of the whole industry); state budget revenue was more than 131,386 billion VND, exceeding the planned target and increasing by 8.46% over the previous year.

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department aims to create a breakthrough in socio-economic development, guided by the Prime Minister's motto: "Harmonious benefits, shared risks". Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department is also committed to accompanying businesses through the implementation of digital customs, smart customs, improving processes and building a modern and efficient apparatus.

Speaking at the conference, business representatives highly appreciated the results of administrative procedure reform of the Customs sector in general and the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department in particular, which greatly supported production and business activities.

Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy General Director of Saigon New Port Corporation, said that the volume of goods through the port system of the unit is in the Top of Vietnam, Top 20 of the world. With a large volume of goods passing through, Saigon New Port has received attention and support from the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department to facilitate fast customs clearance, saving costs for businesses.

“The coordination mechanism between the Customs and Saigon New Port with a high sense of responsibility has supported Saigon New Port and ports in the region to comply with regulations. Timely supplementing regulations to suit the practical situation, creating maximum conditions for import and export activities to help the smooth and stable circulation of goods,” Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam emphasized.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tuan, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, affirmed that the honored enterprises not only lead in production but also contribute greatly to the budget, promoting socio-economic development. He hopes to continue to receive the companionship and contributions of the business community in the coming time.
