On the morning of August 1, information from Ha Tinh General Hospital said that a patient with a severed jugular vein in the left neck in critical condition was promptly saved by the hospital's doctors.

According to initial information, on July 22, Ha Tinh General Hospital received patient D.HT (49 years old, in Tung Loc commune, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province) with a complex wound on the neck due to being cut by corrugated iron. Immediately, the hospital raised the internal red alert, conducting a consultation between the Department of General Surgery, Ear - Nose - Throat and the Department of Anesthesia - Resuscitation Surgery.

After consultation, the doctors determined that this was a case of complex neck injuries, jugular vein rupture, tracheal injury (lower third), inferior thyroid artery rupture, and pleural tear at the top of the lung..., and transferred the patient to emergency surgery.

According to Dr. Nguyen Tien Do (General Surgery Department, Ha Tinh General Hospital, who directly performed surgery on patient D.HT), this is a very critical case, the blood flows quickly and profusely, the patient is in shock from severe blood loss, and can die immediately.

The jugular vein wound is a large blood vessel wound, if not treated promptly, it will lead to rapid blood loss and death... Therefore, it requires doctors to act decisively and accurately. The biggest priority is wound treatment, so the doctors stopped the bleeding and sutured the jugular vein, then sutured the pleura and continued to treat the wound in the trachea...

After a period of emergency care and intensive treatment at the General Surgery Department, patient D.HT's health has now recovered and he can walk, live, eat and communicate normally. It is expected that the patient will be discharged in the next few days.
