Vietnam - Sweden Business Forum

After the welcoming speech by the President of Ericsson Group and the opening speech by Minister Andreas, the Vice President briefly shared about Vietnam's economic, trade, investment and energy policies and potential cooperation opportunities for businesses of both sides.

Next, authorized by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long chaired the Discussion Session with the topic "Digital transformation towards sustainable society and industry".

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long had a frank discussion with representatives of agencies, departments, sectors and many Swedish enterprises about the Vietnamese Government's desire to cooperate with international partners in general and Sweden in particular in achieving sustainable development goals in the process of energy transition and green development in Vietnam.

Vietnam is in the process of strong development, along with responsibilities and commitments to emission reduction. Vietnam is one of 30 countries submitting the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), one of the first three developing countries to join the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) and is working with international partners to develop a Resource Mobilization Plan to be announced at COP28 with the desire to make this partnership model a model, contributing to promoting the trend of just energy transition globally. These are very potential opportunities for future cooperation between Vietnam and Sweden in digital transformation, energy transformation and innovation for the purpose of green and sustainable development. Vietnam hopes that Sweden will share valuable knowledge about technology and practices on the basis of the two countries ensuring a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership.

The discussion session was attended by many Swedish businesses that have been operating for a long time and those that are planning to invest in Vietnam, such as Ericsson, Vilja, MSC, Syre, Scienta Envinet, SEB Bank, EPC-ansvarig SEK Bank, Swedfund Financial Institution, Business Sweden, EKN... Also here, MSC - the largest shipping company in Sweden also announced its cooperation with Gothenburg port and Vung Tau port in opening a direct sea route between Vietnam and Sweden, creating great convenience for Vietnam - Sweden trade.
