Sophisticated and unique with OCOP products from Van Ha wood, Dong Anh district

Van Ha Commune, Dong Anh District is famous for its woodworking craft and participating in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program has created opportunities for Van Ha woodworking village products to "take off". Currently, many production facilities in Van Ha woodworking village have products that meet 3-4 star OCOP standards. Mr. Do Van Cuong, a woodworker in Van Ha Commune, shared that in 2020, his family had a number of carved wood products: Lucky pig, carved wood of lotus candlesticks, jackfruit, one-horned rhinoceros... recognized as 3-star OCOP. Some of this facility’s products, such as peach wooden trays, wooden statues of Bodhisattva Guanyin, wooden statues of buffalo playing the flute, wooden sculptures of the five blessings and four seasons, wooden statues of a family of chickens, wrestling… have achieved 4-star OCOP.

Chairman of Thiet Ung Craft Village Association (Van Ha commune) Do Van Cuong said that Van Ha has 31 wooden handicraft products that meet OCOP 3-4 star standards. The items are very popular with domestic and foreign customers.

Another highlight is that 100% of OCOP products of Van Ha wood village are applied with QR code and Origin Tracing System at the addresses: //da.check.net.vn, www.hn.check.vn and www.check.gov.vn . Through QR code, consumers can completely trace the origin of the product, thereby positioning the brand for Van Ha craft village products.

Along with developing craft village products, Van Ha wood village also has great potential for tourism development. Each Van Ha craftsman can create any product according to a sketch or through the customer's description of characteristics.
