However, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Phuoc, pepper prices increased slightly by VND500/kg, reaching VND159,500/kg, reflecting that consumption demand may be increasing slightly in these areas.

In general, pepper prices fluctuated between VND159,500 - 160,500/kg, showing that the current pepper market is quite stable, but the slight price increase in some areas could be a positive signal for farmers in the context of supply and demand gradually balancing.

In Indonesia, black pepper and white pepper prices decreased by 0.59%, reaching USD 7,255/ton (VND 186,744/kg) and USD 10,190/ton (VND 262,291/kg), respectively, reflecting downward pressure from abundant supply.

The price of ASTA 570 black pepper in Brazil remained stable at USD 6,900/ton (VND 177,606/kg), while ASTA black pepper and white pepper in Malaysia also remained unchanged, reaching USD 9,800/ton (VND 252,252/kg) and USD 12,300/ton (VND 316,602/kg), respectively. In contrast, pepper prices in Vietnam increased slightly, with 500 g/l black pepper increasing by 1.41% to 7,100 USD/ton (182,754 VND/kg), 550 g/l black pepper increasing by 1.37% to 7,300 USD/ton (187,902 VND/kg), and ASTA white pepper increasing by 0.99% to 10,100 USD/ton (259,974 VND/kg), showing that domestic and export demand is improving.

Meanwhile, Indian pepper prices remained stable, with Garbled pepper reaching 67,200 Rupees/quintal (206,170 VND/kg), Gram pepper/litre reaching 64,200 Rupees/quintal (196,966 VND/kg), and Ungarbled pepper reaching 65,200 Rupees/quintal (200,034 VND/kg), reflecting that the Indian pepper market is in a balanced phase, not under much pressure from international fluctuations.

News, forecast of pepper price tomorrow 3/21/2025 tends to continue to increase

Based on market trends and influencing factors, pepper prices in Vietnam on March 21, 2025 are forecast to increase slightly by VND 500/kg, fluctuating between VND 159,500 - VND 161,000/kg. Specifically, in Dak Lak, pepper prices are expected to reach VND 160,500/kg, an increase of VND 500/kg compared to March 20. Similarly, Dak Nong may reach VND 161,000/kg, also an increase of VND 500/kg.

In Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Phuoc, pepper prices are forecast to increase by VND500/kg to VND160,000/kg, while Gia Lai remains at VND160,000/kg, up slightly by VND500/kg. In the international market, pepper prices may continue to fluctuate in opposite directions, with Vietnam and Brazil likely to increase slightly due to export demand, while Indonesia and Malaysia may decrease slightly due to supply pressure.

Many experts believe that pepper prices are in a short-term adjustment period, but with increased demand from major markets such as China, the US, and the EU, along with limited supply due to unfavorable weather in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Brazil, domestic pepper prices may remain above VND159,000/kg and have the potential to increase in the coming time if the export trend continues to improve.
