Regarding the case of a fourth-year female student in Ho Chi Minh City who suddenly went missing before Tet, the latest news is that she has been found in China and is expected to return to Vietnam tomorrow, February 9.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Consul General of Vietnam in Guangzhou (Guangdong province, China), said that the Consulate General received an email requesting help from the family of citizen Liu Ngoc Hang on the afternoon of February 7 after the female student went missing before Tet.
The Consulate General then contacted the family and was informed that they had contacted the immigration agency in Guangzhou and found Hang. Hang is expected to return to Vietnam on a flight tonight, February 8.
"Currently, the Consulate General is contacting Chinese authorities to confirm the information and take necessary citizen protection measures," Mr. Dung added.
Hang's flight will transit Hong Kong and is expected to land at Tan Son Nhat at 10:35 tomorrow, February 9.
