Students also raised questions about the differences between school types, levels of education, job opportunities, etc. in the Exam Season Consulting program organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper on the morning of February 16 at the Binh Duong Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT WISH
At the beginning of the program, Dr. Pham Tan Ha, Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University), informed about some new points about the high school graduation exam and university and college admissions in 2025. Accordingly, an important new point in university admissions this year is that there will no longer be early admissions and schools will conduct a general admission round after the end of the high school graduation exam.

Speaking more about university admission, Dr. Ha said that candidates have the right to register for many wishes in order of priority. In particular, candidates should consider their favorite wish to put in the first wish. "Although there is no limit on the number, candidates should not register for too many wishes, especially wishes in many different fields. Choosing a wish is an extremely important story and needs to be done seriously to find a truly suitable major. You can consult many people, but the most important thing is still your own decision for your future," Dr. Ha emphasized.
Answering the concerns of students of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted (Binh Duong) about the differences between admission methods, Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said that up to now, schools have many admission methods and no school uses less than 3 methods. Direct admission and priority admission are methods to enter university. "In reality, there are candidates who are admitted by one method but not by another method to the same major of the same school. Therefore, to increase the chances of admission, candidates should use many different methods of the same school," Dr. Nhan advised.
CHOOSE A CAREER BY PASSION OR TO HAVE A LOT OF MONEY?
A student from Tran Van On High School (Binh Duong) wondered: "Before entering grade 12, I planned to apply for a sports major based on my personal passion. But after consulting my family, I found that studying economics has more advantages and better earning potential. I think our ultimate goal is to graduate and work to earn money to take care of our lives. So, should I choose to follow my passion or for economic goals? How do the differences between school types affect my CV?". Dr. Le Trung Dao, Vice Principal of the University of Finance and Marketing, shared: "We have the right to choose our major and school, but when we graduate and apply for a job, employers will choose us based on what we have equipped and invested in before. So if we only study for the benefit of making money and ignore our personal passion, will we have enough determination to strive to achieve the best results?".

Master Cao Quang Tu, Director of Admissions at Saigon International University, added: "Only passion can help you earn money sustainably. Therefore, choosing a major needs to come from passion and be suitable for your abilities. When you have enough passion and suitable abilities, and are determined to pursue that passion, no matter what major you study, public, private or international school, it will help you succeed and earn good money."
A student said he was passionate about pursuing a career in education, but after asking for opinions, many people discouraged him. Master Hoang Thanh Tu, Deputy Head of the Information and Communication Department, University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University), advised: "You need to analyze whether you are really suitable, passionate about the field of study, and whether you can change to suit this career. Each career has the same opportunities and challenges." Dr. Huynh Tan Loi, Head of the Environmental Science PhD Program at Van Lang University, said he is passionate about education, but studied engineering and is currently working in an educational environment. No matter what career you choose, the important factor is that it suits your abilities and interests.
CHANNEL TO LEARN ABOUT SCHOOL INFORMATION
Answering students' concerns about choosing to study at a public or private school, Master Cao Quang Tu added that the Ministry of Education and Training currently has general regulations on universities and lecturer standards. In particular, with the current trend of university autonomy, the difference between public and private schools is currently very small.

Also related to the quality of a university, a student asked: "I found information online that every year schools must implement "three public disclosures", should I use this information to evaluate the quality of a university?". Dr. Ha Thuc Vien, Vice Principal of Vietnam-Germany University, said that according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, universities must post public information about the school's operations on the website, from which society and students can learn and evaluate information about a training institution. Each university determines different missions and quality standards. In particular, "three public disclosures" is an important channel to refer to information about a university.

Difference between university and college
Student Nguyen Duc Nguyen (Tay Nam High School, Binh Duong) asked: "Is there any difference between university and college, is there a difference in opportunities after graduation? The information technology industry is currently "hot", will it fade in 4-5 years?". Dr. Nguyen Van Kha, Deputy Director of the Admissions and Communications Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that university is not the only path, besides university there are also college and intermediate levels. There are differences between university and college in terms of degrees, training orientation and study time. College students will enter the labor market earlier when they only study for 2-3 years, while university students will study for 3-5 years. Therefore, not only is the study shorter, but the tuition fee for college is also lower than that of university students.
"Job opportunities will not differ much based on the level of education but will depend on the professional knowledge and skills that students are equipped with after graduation. However, income may differ at the starting level, but only in the public sector," Dr. Kha further analyzed.
Master Tran Viet Dung, Head of Training Department of Cao Thang Technical College, added the advantages of college level: "College practice time accounts for 70% of study time, after graduation, students can immediately work in their desired position. After college level, students can still work and study at the same time to improve their qualifications."
