On May 21, Hoan My Cuu Long General Hospital announced that the hospital's doctors had just successfully treated a patient with arrhythmia using electrophysiological ablation.

The patient is Mrs. LTK (61 years old, residing in Vinh Long province), who has had frequent attacks of palpitations, fatigue, chest heaviness, and dizziness for more than a year. Mrs. K. has a history of similar tachycardia, sometimes the attacks are transient and self-limiting, sometimes they last for a long time. After the intervention, all symptoms were completely resolved and the patient was discharged after 24 hours of treatment.

Through examination and paraclinical tests, the patient was diagnosed with supraventricular tachycardia, which affected daily activities and quality of life due to the continuous tachycardia. After consultation, the team of doctors decided to treat the patient with radiofrequency electrophysiological exploration and ablation techniques.

The procedure lasts about 30 minutes, the patient is given local anesthesia. After the intervention, vital signs are normal, all symptoms are completely resolved and the patient is discharged after 24 hours of treatment.

Dr. Nguyen Huu Thai, Head of the Cardiology Department, Hoan My Cuu Long General Hospital, said that arrhythmia is a serious health problem that can be life-threatening if not treated promptly. Electrophysiology techniques not only help to accurately detect the cause of arrhythmia, but also provide optimal treatment options, helping patients recover quickly and return to normal life.

Dr. Thai recommends regular health check-ups to help detect heart rhythm abnormalities early, allowing timely intervention to prevent serious complications. Chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness and fatigue can be signs of arrhythmia. When experiencing these symptoms, you should immediately see a doctor to determine the cause and have appropriate treatment. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular exercise and effective stress management, is an important factor in preventing and controlling arrhythmia.
