According to the report of the Party Central Office, in the first quarter of 2024, the Party and State leaders led and directed the organization to complete well the work according to the program and plan, promptly and effectively handling unexpected and arising issues. The fields of national defense - security, foreign affairs, organization - personnel, Party building and rectification, anti-corruption and negativity achieved many positive results. Major balances were basically ensured; economic growth recovered quite well; social security was given attention; culture, sports, tourism, information and propaganda continued to be promoted; trade, services, tourism, industrial production, digital transformation changed positively; disease prevention and control were strengthened.
However, production, business activities and workers' lives in some areas are still facing difficulties. Some large projects are behind schedule, incurring large costs; many businesses have to stop operations, dissolve, or go bankrupt; real estate businesses are facing difficulties; exports of some agricultural products have decreased sharply; production and trading of construction materials are at a standstill. Air pollution in Hanoi is very serious; food poisoning is alarming; epidemics are on the rise; some localities lack clean water... Traffic accidents, security, and information security are complicated; complaints, strikes, and work stoppages continue to occur, negatively affecting political security, order, and social safety.
Party committees, central agencies and organizations are united, unified, and actively coordinate their work, basically completing their assigned functions and tasks; reviewing and classifying party organizations and party members, and summarizing the work in 2023 seriously, ensuring quality and progress; proactively implementing projects and reports according to the 2024 Work Program; actively preparing and participating in appraisal and contributing opinions to many projects and reports...
At the conference, representatives of leaders of Party committees, offices, Party committees, agencies and Central organizations made statements clarifying outstanding results as well as difficulties, challenges and proposed solutions to better perform tasks in the second quarter of 2024 and the coming time.

Accordingly, the key tasks for the second quarter of 2024 and the coming time are: Successfully organize the 9th Central Conference of the 13th tenure; The 7th session of the 15th National Assembly; The conference to study and disseminate the Regulations on revolutionary ethical standards for cadres and party members in the new period. Subcommittees urgently deploy preparations for the 14th National Congress of the Party. Safely and successfully organize the 70th Anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory.
Continue to promote economic growth associated with macroeconomic stability, control inflation, ensure major balances of the economy; remove difficulties and obstacles in production and business. Speed up the implementation of key and important strategic infrastructure projects, ensuring standards, quality and safety. Implement social security work well; strengthen environmental protection; effectively respond to saline intrusion in the Mekong Delta; ensure food hygiene and safety; actively prevent and control epidemics.
At the same time, strictly implement the direction of the Steering Committee and the Standing Office of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negativity. Actively speed up the verification, inspection, investigation, prosecution and trial of serious and complicated corruption and negativity cases and incidents that are of public concern. Proactively and actively carry out foreign affairs activities. Well implement the work of protecting internal politics and protecting state secrets. Step up the fight against and handling bad and toxic information; promptly prevent plots and tricks to sabotage the Party and the State. Take measures to limit Vietnamese workers abroad from violating the laws of the host country. Ensure information safety and security. Strictly handle violations of order, traffic safety, environment, hygiene, food safety... Pay attention to resolving complaints and large gatherings, not allowing them to spread and become "hot spots".
