Faced with this situation, Dr. Doan Du Manh, a member of the Vietnam Vascular Association, said: This method has been advertised in the Vietnamese market for about 5 years, especially after Covid-19. However, everyone needs to understand that the blood filtration method will be very good in emergency cases and for patients with pathological conditions such as poisoning, kidney failure, severe lipid disorders, very severe hyperlipidemia, etc. Because if these patients do not receive blood filtration, their blood will have a lot of cholesterol and triglycerides, causing blood to thicken and form blood clots.

"When using external blood filtration, they add anticoagulants and many other things during the filtration process that can lead to the risk of shock, bleeding... On the other hand, not everyone needs to filter all substances in the body. For example, Lipids, there are also good fats, not all fats are bad fats. Good fats have the effect of increasing vascular tone, making our vascular walls more elastic and stronger," said Dr. Manh.

According to Dr. Manh, the advertising tricks of blood filtration for beauty or preventive health care have not been scientifically proven.

Recently sharing on his personal page, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, wrote "If it only takes 2-3 hours with a cost of less than ten million to prevent stroke, eliminate blood fat, diabetes... then a cardiologist like me would probably be unemployed."

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, a truly effective method will be included in the guidelines of professional associations, but up to now there have been no recommendations for preventive dialysis.

Dialysis is only indicated when treatment is needed, that is, when a real disease has been diagnosed. This is a very effective method to save the lives of many patients such as kidney failure, heart failure, severe infections, acute pancreatitis...

"If you go abroad to detoxify your body, you should also ask whether the host country will cover insurance for this preventive method. The answer is definitely no. So don't waste money and effort on performing an "invasive" procedure whose effectiveness has not been clearly proven," Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu shared.

Previously, Dr. Tran Chi Cuong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Neurointerventional Association, said that currently, there is no indication for blood lipid filtration to prevent stroke. Dr. Cuong also pointed out the risks that can occur during blood filtration, for example, patients with malformations, brain vascular malformations, and brain aneurysms who do not have their aneurysms treated but go for blood filtration will increase cerebral hemorrhage for the patient, which is very dangerous. Or patients with intracranial artery stenosis, cerebral ischemia, when filtering blood will slow down the patient's blood circulation, causing cerebral ischemia, leading to a high risk of stroke during blood filtration.

According to medical experts, many places exploit people's fear of illness to launch many advertising tricks about blood filtration methods to prevent chronic diseases. However, people need to be alert, because this is a method that has not been scientifically proven.
