Students prepare to enter the exam room to take the 6th grade test at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted in 2022
Accordingly, in the new school year, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted plans to enroll 525 6th grade students. Eligibility requirements include:
Students who have completed primary school have a final periodic test score of 9 points or higher in each subject of Vietnamese and math in grade 5.
In addition, students must take a 90-minute assessment test on July 4.
Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted will issue and receive enrollment applications from June 8 to 12.
According to regulations, if you do not pass the entrance exam to grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, you can still be considered for admission to grade 6 at secondary schools in districts.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, informed that candidates will take a test on abilities such as: language (English, Vietnamese - writing); mathematics and logical thinking; natural sciences, social sciences (history - geography); common sense of life.
According to Mr. Hieu, the competency test (90 minutes) includes multiple choice and essay parts. In the multiple choice part, candidates will take a 20-question test in English about their understanding of natural sciences, social sciences and common sense in life within 30 minutes.
Essay section: Candidates will take the test in 60 minutes, including the following contents: English proficiency test: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing; Math and logical thinking ability test, reading comprehension and writing ability test. Students will take the test in Vietnamese.
Normally, every year, about 4,000 students register for the entrance exam and the competition rate for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted is approximately 1/8.
