After 5 years of launching the "Creative Miners" movement, up to now, 1,095 individuals have been awarded 2.19 billion VND. Every year, the TKV Trade Union is awarded 30-50 Creative Labor Certificates by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Some typical research projects have brought high efficiency, such as: Applying mechanization of tunneling and mining in underground mines; researching the integration of ventilation control systems, mine gas monitoring; researching the design and manufacturing of large-capacity conveyor belts; manufacturing of cable hoists for carrying people; applying mechanization of production and blasting in open-pit mines; synchronously applying large-capacity mechanized equipment to reduce costs, improve productivity and safety.

Some typical national-level initiatives and topics: "Research on the application of technical and technological solutions to maintain the stability of the tunnel during the mining process in underground coal mines in Quang Ninh region" by the author Dinh Van Cuong, Head of the Department of Underground and Mining Construction Technology (Mining Science and Technology Institute - Vinacomin), with a profit value of 450 billion VND; "Research on the effective use of bulk emulsion explosive 08 (NTR08) in blasting services outside TKV" by Trinh Hai Cuong, Deputy General Director of the Mining Chemical Industry Corporation, with a profit value of 34.5 billion VND; "Renovation of XD-0.32 rock excavator with hydraulic system installation" by the group of authors Nguyen Viet Cuong, Tran Quang Duan, Bui Van Hinh (Uong Bi Coal Company) won the encouragement prize of the Vietnam Technical Innovation Contest (Vifotec) 2019...

The emulation movement “Good workers - Creative workers” has been focused on by trade unions at all levels and units, and has been actively responded to by workers. Initiatives and technical improvements are considered important keys to improving production efficiency, saving consumables, reducing production costs, improving working conditions and protecting the environment.

Mao Khe Coal Company is one of the typical units in the emulation movement "Good workers - Creative workers". In 2024, the Company's employees had about 250 initiatives applied to production and business. Typical is the initiative "Adjusting the distance between mining layers combined with digging diagonal upper shafts to increase the coal recovery rate at the production area of ​​​​Seam 10, North Wing layer +2129/+327" by the group of authors Do Van Tinh, Nguyen Quoc Hoi, Le Van Nang (Mining Workshop 10).

According to Mr. Do Van Tinh, Deputy Manager of Mining Workshop 10, before applying the initiative, the coal recovery rate only reached 50% of the assigned plan due to the seam having many layers of sandwiched rock, the seam length was thin at 3.33m, and the average slope of the seam was 45 degrees. After applying the solution of adjusting the distance between the mining layers combined with digging the diagonal upper shaft, the coal recovery rate at the production area of ​​​​Seam 10, North Wing layer +2129/+327 increased to 60%, which can be applied to production areas with similar conditions. The amount of profit when applying the initiative is over 5.5 billion VND.

Vice President of TKV Trade Union Pham Hong Hanh said: Trade unions at all levels actively responded and coordinated with experts to deploy and launch innovation and creativity movements for a large number of workers to participate according to the characteristics of each unit, such as: "Initiative Festival", "Golden Hands Competition", "Initiative Club"... Every year, union members and workers participate in over 8,000 topics and initiatives, bringing in a value of over 750 billion VND/year.

The emulation movements of initiatives and creativity launched by the trade union not only create great economic values, contributing significantly to solving difficulties and developing production and business of the unit, but also create spiritual values, motivating miners to work enthusiastically.
