The Coffee House has just responded to the above incident. Accordingly, the storm with hail on April 20 broke the glass at the Viet Tower building - where The Coffee House rented a business location. The incident injured a number of customers and employees.

According to information, as soon as the incident occurred, The Coffee House immediately took the injured person to the hospital for treatment, and actively coordinated with the authorities and the Management Board of Viet Tower (the lessor and operator of the building) to determine the damage and propose support plans.

At the time of the incident, the evening shift staff at The Coffee House Thai Ha urgently evacuated customers to the warehouse for shelter. Afterwards, the store representative took all 4 employees and 3 injured customers to the hospital and paid in advance all hospital fees incurred during the first period.

As of April 21, The Coffee House staff and 2 customers have been discharged from the hospital. Currently, 1 customer, Ms. HML, needs to continue treatment as prescribed by the doctor.

Speaking with VietNamNet reporters, a representative of The Coffee House said that because Ms. L. suffered multiple injuries and had just finished surgery, it was not known when she would be discharged from the hospital.

“Fortunately, Ms. L. is now out of danger. We are also preparing to meet Ms. L.’s family to share The Coffee House’s responsibilities and learn more about Ms. L.’s family’s wishes,” he said.

It is known that the victim L., 29 years old (from Dien Dong commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An) is working at K Hospital, Tan Trieu facility, Hanoi.

On the evening of May 9, Mr. Hoang Van Thanh - Ms. L's father said that since the accident, the family has focused on taking care of their child and reported the incident to the Trung Liet ward police (Dong Da, Hanoi) on April 21.

During Ms. L.'s treatment, the coffee shop came to visit the patient. Both sides agreed to focus on emergency care for the victim and did not mention financial costs. The money to pay the hospital deposit was all managed by the family.

After the incident, Ms. L. was taken to Hanoi Medical University Hospital for emergency treatment. She is now conscious but paralyzed in the lower half of her body.
