On November 30, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province announced that Nghinh Phong Tower (Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen) has just been voted by the World Travel Awards Organizing Committee as the World's Leading City Monuments 2023 award.
The World Travel Awards is a prestigious international tourism voting organization that has been operating for the past 30 years. The World Travel Awards 2023 ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 1 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Nghinh Phong Tower was built in 2020 and is a symbol of Phu Yen.
Nghinh Phong Tower is 42 m high, built on an area of nearly 7,200 m 2 . The project has two symmetrical towers, 28 m and 34 m high respectively.
The structure has 100 stone pillars, divided into two sides, each side has 50 pillars symbolizing father and mother, yin and yang, sea and mountain, inspired by the legend of Lac Long Quan - Au Co gave birth to a sac of 100 eggs that hatched 100 children, 50 children followed their father to the sea, 50 children followed their mother Au Co to the mountains to reclaim land, expanding the country's territory.
In the middle is a wind-catching slot with the meaning of welcoming the wind. The stone blocks are constructed according to the art of skillfully arranging shapes according to the symbol of the special national monument - Ganh Da Dia in Phu Yen.
Nghinh Phong Tower was built close to the coast in Tuy Hoa City.
On November 17, in Busan (Korea), Nghinh Phong Tower was the only representative of Southeast Asia to be honored at the 2023 Asian Urban Landscape Award.
