Vinh City joins hands to clean Cua Lo beach

The event aims to raise public awareness about marine environmental protection, towards sustainable development and green tourism for the central coastal city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Lam - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee emphasized: Vinh City is currently a coastal city, this is an opportunity as well as a challenge for common development. Protecting the marine environment is not only an urgent task in the face of the challenges of climate change and waste pollution, but also a vital factor for economic development, tourism and the quality of life of the city's people.

Also at the ceremony, Vinh city leaders proposed three key groups of solutions to protect Cua Lo beach: First, effectively implement policies and strategies on environmental protection, especially in waste treatment and greenhouse gas emission reduction; Second, strengthen management and control of coastal waste sources, invest in wastewater treatment infrastructure, protect and regenerate marine resources; Third, promote propaganda and education of the community on preserving the marine environment, turning awareness into concrete actions in daily life.

For people, it is necessary to actively participate in environmental sanitation activities, environmental protection movements such as Green Sunday, anti-plastic waste...; classify waste at source, limit and gradually stop using hard-to-decompose plastic bags and disposable plastic items.

Many response activities were deployed immediately after the launching ceremony such as cleaning along the beach, collecting plastic waste and launching the "Green Sunday" movement among the people, and a bicycle parade for the environment of Cua Lo beach...

With the enthusiastic atmosphere and consensus of all levels, sectors and people, the campaign for Cua Lo sea environment not only contributes to cleaning up the tourist space but also spreads the message of green living and sustainable living to the community. This is the first step in a long journey towards the goal of building Cua Lo coastal city - Vinh city to be increasingly civilized, modern and environmentally friendly.
