Thanh Hoa has completed and put into use 2,197 social housing apartments.

On the afternoon of February 12, the Steering Committee for Social Housing Development and Implementation of Housing Support Policies for Policy Subjects in the province (referred to as the Steering Committee) held a conference to assess the operation situation and deploy tasks in the coming time. Comrade Nguyen Doan Anh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee chaired the conference.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem presented a report on the activities of the Steering Committee on social housing development and implementation of housing support policies for policy beneficiaries in the province.

According to Decision No. 338/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the Project to invest in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021-2030, the target of social housing construction in the period of 2021-2030 was assigned to Thanh Hoa province to complete the construction of at least 13,787 apartments (specifically: In the period of 2021-2025, about 6,287 apartments will be completed, in the period of 2026-2030, about 7,500 apartments will be completed). Based on the project implementation target, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and Provincial Steering Committee have focused on directing the implementation of 27 projects, of which 13 projects have been and are being implemented with a total of 12,248 apartments and 14 projects are selecting investors with an expected investment of about 7,596 apartments. Up to now, about 2,197 apartments have been completed and put into use (with 4 completed projects and 4 ongoing projects that have partially put into use).

Regarding housing support for policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions, the province has approved support for 15,438 households in 2024 - 2025, of which 10,750 households requested to build new houses, 4,688 households requested to repair). As of February 2025, according to reports from the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and related units, the total number of poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in 2024-2025 in the province according to Directive No. 22-CT/TU of the Provincial Party Standing Committee is: 16,145 households (11,457 households newly built, 4,688 households repaired), an increase of 707 households in 2025 compared to the approval results of the Provincial People's Committee. Of these, there are 13,769 poor households, near-poor households, policy households, meritorious people and households under national target programs living in temporary or dilapidated houses under Directive 42 of the Prime Minister.

The discussions at the conference clarified the results achieved and raised the difficulties and obstacles in the development of social housing; housing support for policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions, poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties. The opinions also proposed a number of solutions to overcome difficulties and tasks to be implemented in the coming time.

Emphasizing the superiority of the Party and State in the policy of developing social housing and implementing housing support policies for policy beneficiaries, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh suggested that after this conference, the Steering Committee urgently build and complete the Steering Committee's membership structure. The Standing Office of the Steering Committee needs to rebuild the 2025 plan in a specific manner, focusing on the main tasks according to regulations. Focus on reviewing and updating planning and land funds to arrange the construction of social housing in industrial parks with a large number of workers, areas with a large number of cadres, civil servants, public employees and laborers.

Assign the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to direct relevant departments and branches to study and allocate capital to implement construction in accordance with the Government's direction. At the same time, strictly carry out the inspection and supervision of the implementation of tasks. Strengthen coordination between levels, branches and localities to study site clearance, allocate investment capital to develop social housing so that low-income people can live in social housing that ensures safety and quality, continue to work, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the province and each locality.
