Da Nang summarizes the work of building a mass movement to protect national security

On the afternoon of February 12, the City People's Committee held a conference to review the work of building the movement for the whole people to protect national security in 2024 and deploy the work of building the movement in 2025. Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh chaired the conference.

In 2024, closely following the direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security on the task of ensuring political security and social order and safety. Localities and units have built many models on crime prevention; fire prevention and fighting; the "Smart Civil Affairs" model is increasingly effective, creating positive changes in people's awareness and actions. During the year, the city's 8394 patrol force organized more than 40,000 shifts, thereby detecting, coordinating the arrest and handling of 47 subjects of property theft, 71 teenagers using homemade weapons to resolve conflicts, 29 subjects buying, selling, storing and illegally transporting drugs; preventing and dispersing 219 cases of fighting and disturbing public order.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh commended and congratulated the achievements in building the movement of All People Protecting National Security. At the same time, he said that in 2024, the movement of All People Protecting National Security in the city had strong changes; many collectives, individuals, typical examples, good people and good deeds were awarded medals, certificates of merit, and certificates of merit by the Ministry of Public Security, the City People's Committee, and competent authorities. In order for the movement of All People Protecting National Security in the city to continue to be maintained and spread widely, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh requested departments, branches, organizations, units, and localities to focus on building and consolidating people's security and people's security posture according to the Project of the Ministry of Public Security on "Building a people's security posture closely combined with a solid national defense posture". Along with that, promote propaganda, mobilization, raise people's awareness of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws related to crime prevention and control, ensuring security and order, and building the movement of All people protecting national security in the city. Local Party committees and authorities need to focus on directing research, building, consolidating, and expanding self-management models of security and order in accordance with the conditions, circumstances, economic and cultural life, and local characteristics, contributing to gathering and mobilizing people to participate in crime prevention and control, actively supporting the police force in ensuring security and order in residential areas. Improve the effectiveness of forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level.

On this occasion, the Minister of Public Security awarded certificates of merit to 8 collectives; the Chairman of the City People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 31 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement of All People Protecting National Security in 2024.
