As one of the 9 pioneering members of the Vietnam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam), TH Group shares the goal of raising consumer awareness about recycling and waste classification; accompanying the Government to improve the packaging recycling process to be more sustainable in the future, thereby contributing to a 'green Vietnam'.

At the 5th anniversary of PRO Vietnam, held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 14, Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc Trai, Chairman of PRO Vietnam, said that in 2019, the alliance was established with 9 members, with a clear mission: "Promoting the circular economy in Vietnam and making packaging recycling more accessible and sustainable". Currently, the alliance has 30 members, each of which is a leader in their fields. Actions to change consumer habits Speaking at the event, leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment all recognized the contributions of PRO Vietnam over the past 5 years. In particular, the alliance's contributions in developing regulations on extended producer responsibility (EPR) as well as in implementing these regulations from 2024 are highly appreciated. When the EPR regulation comes into effect in 2024, PRO Vietnam commits to collecting and recycling about 64,000 tons of packaging authorized by member businesses.
Chiến dịch thường niên "Thu gom vỏ hộp - lan tỏa sống xanh" tại hệ thống các cửa hàng TH true mart tại Hà Nội và TP.HCM đã thu gom gần 1,9 tấn bao bì trong năm 2023

The annual campaign "Collecting cartons - spreading green living" at TH true mart stores in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City collected nearly 1.9 tons of packaging in 2023.

Taking a pioneering role, since 2022, TH has implemented many activities to collect packaging, promote recycling, and reduce plastic waste. For example, the annual campaign "Collecting boxes - spreading green living" at the TH true mart system. Or in September 2023, TH cooperated with the For Vietnamese Stature Fund and Green Future Plastic Company to sponsor the construction of Khu Lang kindergarten in Trung Ha commune, Quan Son district, Thanh Hoa province with materials made partly from recycled materials. Nearly 45 tons of high-tech processed plastic were used for this project. The materials have also been tested to be safe for the environment as well as human health.

TH's circular economy stories modeled on interactive screens are a highlight of the event's exhibition area.

In addition, the plastic reduction initiatives of this unit are also typical examples of sustainable development that many parties refer to at the event. It is estimated that TH Group has reduced more than 600 tons of plastic each year thanks to the synchronous application of more environmentally friendly production and consumption solutions. Consumers can easily see that TH not only uses spoons made of more environmentally friendly biological materials but also reduces the number of spoons supplied with TH true YOGURT yogurt products by half compared to before, and will reduce 100% in the future. In addition, TH true WATER purified water products also have 100% of plastic shrink wrap removed from bottle caps. TH applies modern technology to reduce the weight of plastic bottles of beverage products; Reducing the thickness of plastic labels, using shopping bags made from bio-materials at the TH true mart retail chain... Pioneering the circular economy, aiming for Net Zero At the discussion "Opportunities and challenges in implementing the circular economy" within the framework of the event, members of PRO Vietnam shared the results as well as solutions to improve the effectiveness of the circular economy in Vietnam.
Ông Mandal Arghya, Giám đốc Công ty cổ phần sữa TH chia sẻ tại tọa đảm "Cơ hội và thách thức trong triển khai kinh tế tuần hoàn" trong khuôn khổ sự kiện

Mr. Mandal Arghya, Director of TH Milk Joint Stock Company shared at the seminar "Opportunities and challenges in implementing circular economy" within the framework of the event.

Mr. Mandal Arghya - Director of TH Milk Joint Stock Company, said: "Circular economy is not a pressure but an opportunity. Since the early days of establishment, the philosophy of sustainable development and commitment to environmental protection have always been the guiding principles for all activities of the Group". TH constantly invests in advanced technologies to make the production cycle "greener", thereby minimizing emissions and increasing recycling capacity. According to Mr. Mandal Arghya, the formation of PRO Vietnam alliance and specific actions of member enterprises in the past 5 years have shown that large corporations are becoming more aware of environmental responsibility, and at the same time applying initiatives to minimize negative impacts on the environment. One of the most successful circular economy models at TH is turning waste into valuable resources. Accordingly, at TH farms, organic waste is collected and processed into biological buffers for the farm and organic fertilizer production. In 2023, TH's farm system will reduce emissions by an average of more than 20% per product unit through many synchronous solutions focusing on 3 activities: cutting greenhouse gas emissions; switching to using green energy sources, renewable energy and absorbing greenhouse gases. In particular, the solar battery system at TH Farm and TH Factory produces 7-8 million kWh/year, equivalent to contributing to reducing about 5,000 tons of CO₂/year. TH's next plan is to share the use of such solutions with farmers, creating the best conditions for people to participate in the path of sustainable development, accompanying the Government towards Net Zero as committed by Vietnam at COP26.
