In this episode of 'Exploring the Green Factory,' viewers will learn about green economic initiatives, the closed-loop circular economy production chain "from green pastures to a glass of clean milk," and sustainable development at TH farms and factories.
TH Farm currently holds the world record for "The largest cluster of high-tech farms with a closed-loop production process in the world," certified by the World Records Union in December 2020. This is a prime example of applying initiatives and solutions geared towards a green and circular economy in all stages of production, from green pastures to fresh, clean milk products for consumers. Balancing three factors: economy, environment, and society, TH Farm comprises 3 clusters, 9 farms, and high-tech fields in Nghia Dan, Nghe An . It is a place where the entire closed-loop, circular production chain converges, from raw material cultivation and dairy farming to the production of fresh, clean milk.Pivot irrigation systems are used in leading mechanized farms worldwide.
Not only does the TH farm complex apply modern technology to protect the environment, but it is also a prime example of a green economy, ensuring a harmonious balance of three factors: economic, environmental, and social. Local people are given the opportunity to participate in TH's production chain, with guaranteed product sales and support in terms of technology, water, and fertilizer to improve their land, ensuring long-term livelihoods.Farmers grow and cultivate biomass corn with technical guidance and guaranteed product purchase from TH Group.
From the pastures, the cows' diets are carefully managed with two large, fully automated feed mixing centers, ensuring the nutritional needs of each cow group are met and the best milk yield and quality are achieved. Recently, TH has also successfully researched and improved its feed formula to ensure nutrition while minimizing methane gas emissions from cows during digestion. At the milk processing plant, with a focus on sustainable development, the company has implemented numerous green solutions in its production process. Many initiatives to reduce plastic use, greenhouse gas emissions, and the use of solar energy batteries have been effectively implemented at TH true MILK's factories.
Since 2022, TH's dairy factory has completely switched to a biomass boiler system, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 85%. In addition, TH has implemented programs to collect empty milk cartons through its TH true mart retail system, promoting recycling and fulfilling its Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Solar energy projects have also been implemented at TH's farms to minimize reliance on the national power grid and protect the environment. Transforming waste into resources is a characteristic concept of the circular economy. At TH farms, organic waste is collected and processed into a bio-biological buffer for use in livestock facilities and to produce organic fertilizer that is then used back in the fields. This fertilizer has a high nutrient content, is easily absorbed by plants, and helps limit the use of inorganic chemical fertilizers, which can have long-term consequences for agricultural land and the environment.A portion of the wastewater from the livestock farming process is also treated using modern, advanced technology and returned to nature in accordance with national standards - Photo: DOAN HOA
The circular economy is a model that businesses are pursuing not only to protect the environment but also to achieve sustainable development. In the story of TH Farm, we can see the combination of Industry 4.0 technology and management technology interwoven to create an efficient and sustainable model.
