Director Tran Luc, screenwriter Le Hoang, 50% of old actors participate in Tao Quan 2024
Contributing to the popularity of the Tao Quan program over the past 20 years is not only the talented artists, but also the audience's appreciation of the familiar memories of the End of Year Meeting era. Therefore, viewers always expect to see familiar "veteran faces" again on New Year's Eve.
According to many sources, Tao Quan 2024 will be made with many innovations in content. The participating artists will retain 50% of the familiar faces to the audience, in addition to the participation of many new artists.

Usually by the end of December every year, the Tao Quan program, produced by VTV and assigned by the Vietnam Television Film Production Center (VFC), has completed the script, started gathering artists and practicing to prepare for filming close to the Lunar New Year.
Up to now, VTV and VFC have not made any official moves or information. However, on social networks, there are many images and clips said to be behind-the-scenes rehearsals of artists for Tao Quan 2024.
On December 26, the Facebook page of People's Artist Tu Long - who often plays the role of the Social God, the Education God... posted: "What's interesting about this year's Tao Quan?". The post has so far had more than 75 thousand interactions and lively comments on the posting platform.
Accordingly, 4 days ago, People's Artist Tu Long continued to post a clip with the caption: "Another year is almost over, the Tao Quan season is back. We practice singing together, everyone wait."
The content of the clip shows two artists Tu Long and Xuan Bac practicing very humorous and funny singing parts, while behind them is artist Chi Trung attentively reading the script.

People's Artist Xuan Bac also posted photos of him and Tu Long studying the script: "He is engrossed in studying the script, acting like he is working very hard." Before the two artists' hints, viewers commented and were looking forward to the artists appearing in Tao Quan 2024, even though there were previous rumors that Xuan Bac would be absent.
Director Do Thanh Hai, Deputy General Director of VTV, said that Tao Quan is a familiar program of VTV during Tet, but over time the program's quality has gradually decreased, so in 2019 Tao Quan had to stop after 16 years accompanying the small screen audience, making many artists and audiences feel regretful.
After that, the Vietnam Television Film Production Center started making the program Tao Quan Vi Hanh (broadcast on the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month) but it did not make an impression and did not attract the audience. Therefore, for the return of Tao Quan 2024, the production team has carefully prepared the script.
According to a source, the 2024 Tao Quan program will be staged according to the "banyan tree, well, communal house yard" version. Notably, although artist Quoc Khanh will still participate in playing the role of the Jade Emperor. In addition, Meritorious Artist Chi Trung will participate in Tao Quan 2024 with a completely different role compared to before.
According to our sources, the script for Tao Quan 2024 this year was assigned to Le Hoang.
About 50% of the actors of last year's Tao Quan continue to take on their roles under the command of the new director: People's Artist Tran Luc. This is also the first time this director has been invited to take on the role of directing the Tao Quan stage in the more than 20 years since the program aired.
Tran Luc is a familiar face in many TV series. For many years now, he has participated in a number of movies and has also switched to directing classical theater, combining traditional style with Western drama colors.
However, the Tao Quan stage has always been rustic and everyday but full of profound messages through the way it brings laughter to the audience. Many people were surprised by this change but also expected director Tran Luc to bring a unique breeze to the program Meeting at the end of the year 2024.
Also according to some collected information, artist Thanh Huong will be invited to act in Tao Quan 2024 for the first time. The actress will transform into the character "Mother Dop".
This year there is something new: Ngoc Hoang Quoc Khanh was awarded the title of People's Artist along with Nam Tao Xuan Bac and director Tran Luc.

Up to now, VTV and the Vietnam Television Film Production Center (VFC) have not given any feedback or confirmation about the program. However, there are some Facebook groups called Tao Quan 2024 Ticket Market, Year-end Ticket Hunting,... with thousands of members.
Black market tickets were sold for 8 million VND/ticket.
The administrator of the closed group "Tao Quan 2024 Ticket Market" confirmed to post the standard ticket diagram for the program.
Every day in these groups, there are many posts looking to buy and sell tickets. Although the program has just started, some individuals are selling tickets for up to 8 million VND each.
However, many viewers also warned of fraud by people who intend to take advantage of the sale for profit.
Some sellers even posted a separate map image, promising that tickets would be available within a week after payment was transferred. However, after checking, this map was not authentic. The program's organizers also did not provide any information about opening ticket sales for Tao Quan 2024.
In 2023, the Tao Quan program marked its 20-year journey with television audiences. After airing, the program received many mixed comments, causing controversy about its content such as having no highlights, weak laughter, and not being as attractive as before.
This year, according to the Lunar calendar, the traditional New Year will take place later, specifically New Year's Eve (30th of Tet) will fall on February 9, 2024.
Previously, at the end of 2019, VTV announced that it would stop producing the Tao Quan program after 16 years of implementation. The reason for this was not specified, but VTV said that the unit had assigned VFC to continue producing another program to replace Tao Quan at 8:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve of the 2020 Lunar New Year. However, after a 1-year hiatus, Tao Quan returned on the occasion of Tet 2021. By 2023, Tao Quan had just completed its 20th broadcast.
