At Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) and DOJI Group, the price of gold bars was listed at VND91.8 million/tael (buy) and VND93.5 million/tael (sell). This afternoon's gold price increased by VND800,000/tael for buying - VND500,000/tael for selling compared to the end of yesterday's trading session.

DOJI system listed SJC gold at buying price of 91.8 million VND/tael and selling price of 93.5 million VND/tael. This price increased by 800 thousand VND/tael for buying and 500 thousand VND/tael for selling compared to yesterday.

At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the buying price of SJC gold is 92.7 million VND/tael and the selling price is 93.7 million VND/tael. Thus, compared to yesterday's session, the gold price increased sharply by 200 thousand VND/tael in both buying and selling directions.

Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited listed the price of SJC gold at 92 million VND/tael (buy) and 93.5 million VND/tael (sell). This price increased by 1 million VND/tael for buying and 700 thousand VND/tael for selling compared to yesterday.

Bao Tin Manh Hai Company Limited listed the price of SJC gold at 84.4 million VND/tael (buy) and 86.4 million VND/tael (sell). This price remained unchanged in both buying and selling directions compared to the closing price of yesterday's trading session.

World gold price today March 13, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4am today, Vietnam time, was 2,924.02 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.45% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,776 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 90.8 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 2.4 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

World gold price developments in the past 24 hours.

Gold, the safe-haven asset, held its ground, helped by tariff uncertainty and a more subdued inflation report that helped sustain expectations of a US interest rate cut, Reuters reported.

Spot gold rose 0.1% to $2,917.93 an ounce by 12:58 GMT. US gold futures edged up 0.1% to $2,923.80. Data showed the US consumer price index rose 0.2% last month after accelerating 0.5% in January. However, the improvement may be temporary as steep tariffs on imports are expected to raise prices for most commodities in the coming months.

"Gold has recovered but has been range-bound in recent weeks; whether gold can move higher after this CPI report will be a key signal. In the medium term, uncertainty will support gold so any sharp dips will be bought into," said Tai Wong, an independent metals trader.

On the trade policy front, President Donald Trump’s order to impose tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports from the United States took effect on Wednesday, accelerating a campaign to reorder global trade in the United States’ favor and quickly triggering retaliation from Europe. Last year, the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 100 basis points. Financial markets expect the Fed to cut rates again in June, after pausing in January due to the worsening economic outlook.

Non-yielding gold thrives in low interest rate environments and is seen as a safe investment during times of economic and geopolitical uncertainty.

The US producer price index (PPI) and weekly jobless claims data due out on Thursday are the next data investors will be watching.

Spot silver prices rose 0.7% to $33.16 an ounce.

In our base case of a modest recovery in manufacturing activity, silver should outperform gold, although a sharper slowdown in U.S. growth is a key risk, UBS said in a note. Platinum rose 1.5% to $990.00 and palladium rose 0.7% to $952.23.
