With beautiful natural landscapes, many attractive and unique destinations, diverse cultures and regions, and many preferential policies, visas, and convenient immigration, Vietnam in general, and Quang Ninh in particular, are always the preferred destinations for tourists from many countries and territories around the world to visit, relax, and experience.
Immediately after the Covid-19 pandemic, tourism was identified as an industry that needed to be recovered soon, thereby contributing to the overall economic growth of the country and localities. Many programs to promote, promote and connect domestic and foreign tourism were promoted, along with many prestigious tourism awards presented by international organizations, attracting an increasing number of international visitors to Vietnam.
According to the General Statistics Office, international visitors to Vietnam in September 2024 are estimated to reach nearly 1.3 million, an increase of 20.9% over the same period in 2023; in the third quarter of 2024, it is estimated to reach nearly 3.8 million, an increase of 17% over the same period; in the first 9 months of this year, it is estimated to reach more than 12.7 million, an increase of 43% over the same period. For Quang Ninh, from the beginning of the year to October 21, international visitors reached 3 million, mainly from the markets of China, Korea, Taiwan, India, European countries, the US, etc. This is an important milestone for the efforts to overcome difficulties of Quang Ninh tourism after the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the recent storm No. 3.

The positive results in attracting international tourists are thanks to Vietnam's visa policy being changed in a favorable direction, creating conditions for tourists to have more time to experience and visit destinations, along with tourism promotion, promotion and connection programs being promoted and strengthened from the central level to each locality.
To achieve the goal of Vietnam welcoming 17-18 million international visitors in 2024, relevant ministries, branches and localities are continuing to improve visa policies, especially expanding the list of unilateral visa exemptions; promoting tourism promotion, seeking new tourist markets instead of focusing on a number of traditional markets; organizing unique and attractive cultural, tourism and entertainment events and programs; applying information technology, artificial intelligence and promoting digital transformation in tourism; improving the quality of tourism products and tours, especially tourism products based on exploiting traditional cultural values, encouraging tourist spending, extending the length of stay of international tourists, and increasing tourism revenue.
To attract international tourists, along with other localities nationwide, Quang Ninh also promotes programs, events, promotion, advertising, and tourism connections. In particular, it focuses on attracting international tourists in the cruise industry.
With a synchronous and modern transport infrastructure and seaports, along with a variety of attractive experiences, Quang Ninh is assessed to have a competitive advantage in the cruise tourism market share in the country and Southeast Asia. It is expected that from now until the end of 2024, Ha Long International Passenger Port will welcome 16 large cruise ships from world-famous brands such as Mein Schiff 6, Celebrity Solstice, Noordam... bringing thousands of international tourists from Europe, America and China to Ha Long. During the 2024-2025 cruise season, there will be more than 60 cruise ships coming to Ha Long with more than 100,000 passengers, including many luxury cruise ships.
Along with the excitement of international cruises with many new shipping lines, Quang Ninh also promotes attracting tourists from neighboring China, promoting and connecting traditional markets such as Korea, Taiwan (China), Asia, Europe..., expanding to attract Indian tourists.
After the impact of storm No. 3, with guaranteed service quality and tourism, Quang Ninh has won the trust of domestic and international tourists. Quang Ninh is striving to welcome 3.5 million foreign tourists in 2024, thereby contributing to the goal of welcoming 17-18 million international visitors to Vietnam this year.
