At the Stroke Center, according to Master Nguyen Minh Anh, during the 9 days of the Lunar New Year, the Center receives an average of 50-60 emergency and hospitalized patients each day, including many young people.
Patients come to the emergency room and are hospitalized with various clinical symptoms such as complications of hypertension, speech disorders, consciousness, hemiplegia... patients needing ventilator support are increasing. On average, there are times when the number of patients increases by about 30-40% compared to normal days.
Dr. Minh Anh said that during the night shift on the 5th day of Tet, the doctors and nurses received a 36-year-old male patient from Hai Duong who was transferred to the Emergency Center by his family in a lethargic state and had difficulty speaking.
Through examination, doctors determined that the patient had a cerebral infarction, a blockage of the artery in the brain. Fortunately, the patient arrived at the hospital 4-5 hours after the above condition occurred, so endovascular intervention and mechanical thrombectomy were performed in time.
Another case is a 46-year-old male patient in Cau Giay - Hanoi who was hospitalized on the 29th of Tet. He had a history of high blood pressure but did not comply with treatment and often skipped blood pressure medication.

The X-ray results showed that the patient had a brain hemorrhage with severe left-sided weakness. There was a high risk of edema, brain hemorrhage, paralysis, and deep coma. However, after 5-6 days of intensive treatment, the patient's consciousness was clear, his muscle strength was better but he was still weak.
