In the first months of 2025, the province's economic picture has many bright spots, especially in the field of goods export. Local businesses have been making constant efforts to bring their products to the international market, taking advantage of opportunities to accelerate production and export, creating momentum for strong growth.

Innovation to dominate the market

Since the beginning of the year, workers of Long Hau Ceramics Joint Stock Company (Tien Hai Industrial Park) have been highly focused on production to ensure the progress of export orders. Ms. Phan Thi Yen, a worker in the household ceramics export team, shared: Right after the Tet holiday, the workers returned to the factory and immediately started production, focusing on technical steps to meet the requirements of the orders.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, head of the export household ceramic production team, said: "When we are given an export order, we all have to work closely to produce the best quality products and achieve high productivity. From the beginning of the year, the smooth work has brought hope to workers for a year with more jobs and better income than the previous year."

In addition to household ceramic products, Long Hau Ceramics Joint Stock Company also has orders to export sanitary ceramic products to some countries such as Myanmar and Korea.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Phong, Deputy Director of the Company said: Thanks to investment in innovation of technology, machinery, training to improve workers' skills and promoting research and innovation in terms of quality, form and new designs, Long Hau's products have attracted consumers, especially meeting the strict standards of the international market. This is the key for the enterprise to sign many export orders in 2024 and early 2025. Currently, in parallel with promoting the development of more export markets, Long Hau continues to invest in innovation of machinery, technology and prepares raw materials and accessories to ensure maintaining high production intensity to achieve the growth target of 10% compared to 2024.

The province’s export picture in the first months of the year has really improved for both domestic and FDI enterprises. Taking advantage of new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs) with tariff incentives, FDI enterprises in the province have boosted production and export of goods.

Mr. Yang Xue Bing, Production Manager of Greenworks Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park) said: From November 2024, our Greenworks Thai Binh Vietnam factory project will officially go into production. The main products of the factory are gardening machinery and equipment for export. In December 2024, the factory produced and exported more than 70,000 units, with a turnover of 6,635,272 USD. In January 2025, we achieved an output of 153,299 units, with a turnover of 7,658,463 USD, with up to 90% of products exported to the US market, the rest exported to Europe. Due to the nearly 1-week Tet holiday, in February we mobilized human resources, machinery and encouraged workers to take advantage of all time to produce, maintaining the delivery time commitment to partners. It is expected that in 2025, export orders will be abundant, so currently, in addition to organizing production, we continue to recruit nearly 200 more workers to meet the production and export needs of the Company.

It can be said that enterprises in the province have been proactive, creative and constantly innovating. Many enterprises have boldly invested in modern production technology, improved quality, diversified product types and designs. In addition, enterprises also focus on building brands, expanding distribution channels, participating in product promotion and finding partners, thereby expanding export markets. This is the reason why import and export activities in the first months of this year in the province have become bustling and prosperous. The total import and export turnover of goods in January 2025 reached 444.1 million USD, an increase of 1.6% over the same period in 2024; of which, export turnover reached 271,535,247 USD, import turnover reached 172,501,971 USD, the trade balance had a surplus of nearly 100 million USD. The first half of February also recorded a sharp increase in export activities with a total turnover estimated at nearly 150 million USD. Many key products of the province such as textiles, footwear, seafood, agricultural products... have effectively penetrated a number of major markets in the world such as the US, EU, Japan, Korea..., contributing to the economic growth of the province and creating more jobs, increasing income for people.

Accompanying businesses

To have a bright import-export picture at the beginning of the year, Thai Binh enterprises must strive to overcome many challenges such as fierce competition between countries, exchange rate fluctuations, high transportation costs... with effective solutions such as technological innovation, improving management capacity, making the most of the state's support mechanisms and policies. In particular, authorities at all levels and state management agencies have promptly accompanied and removed obstacles for enterprises through promoting administrative procedure reform, creating a favorable business environment, and increasing support for enterprises in terms of market information and trade promotion.

Since the beginning of the year, Thai Binh Customs Branch has focused on directing specialized officers to propagate, disseminate, and educate the law and directly go to enterprises to guide the implementation of new regulations on customs clearance procedures. Arrange officers to directly receive and promptly handle import-export administrative procedures, creating maximum conditions for enterprises to clear goods, minimizing time and costs, helping enterprises improve their competitiveness.

Mr. Le Van Hao, Deputy Head of Thai Binh Customs Branch, said: In addition to publicizing and making administrative procedures transparent according to regulations, the Branch also promotes digitalization according to the strategy of developing digital customs and smart customs to strictly manage import and export activities, while supporting businesses to clear goods conveniently. In January alone, Thai Binh Customs Branch received, reviewed and processed 5,721 import declarations and 6,656 export declarations with tens of millions of tons of goods for businesses, an increase of 2.9% over the same period in 2024.

With the continuous efforts of enterprises and the effective support and accompaniment of state management agencies, Thai Binh's import and export activities are being cleared and growing in the first months of 2025. The favorable start is the step to create momentum for the province's international trade sector to break through, stimulating enterprises to increase production, contributing to the economic sectors striving to achieve the double-digit growth target that Thai Binh is determined to achieve in 2025.
