Take advantage of mobile commerce opportunities

In recent years, Vietnam has been considered one of the countries with the fastest growth rate of smartphone users in the world. According to a report by We Are Social and Hootsuite, by the end of 2023, Vietnam will have more than 70 million smartphone users, accounting for about 70% of the population.

Consumers choose and shop on e-commerce platforms.

Coupled with the popularity of mobile internet, it further promotes the use of mobile online shopping applications.

Mobile Commerce (M-Commerce) is the use of wireless handheld devices such as mobile phones or tablets to conduct online commercial transactions, including product purchases, online banking, and bill payments.

Currently, Vietnam has more and more businesses deploying mobile commerce applications to serve users' shopping activities. For example, major e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Tiki and TikTok have invested heavily in developing mobile applications with user-friendly interfaces and many convenient features, allowing users to search for products, compare prices, read reviews and make transactions easily with just a few operations on the phone. This not only enhances the shopping experience but also promotes the development of mobile commerce.

For businesses, mobile commerce also opens up opportunities to reach a large number of potential customers from social media channels, especially young people - a group with a high rate of smartphone and mobile internet usage.

This helps businesses to have an effective and cost-saving customer base. In addition, the development of mobile commerce also contributes greatly to the development of the digital economy, while creating many job opportunities, promoting the development of supporting industries as well as contributing to the modernization of the economy.

Mobile commerce is truly becoming a new mainstream trend in Vietnam, bringing many benefits and opportunities to both consumers and businesses. However, this market is also facing increasingly fierce competition with the participation of many large and small businesses. To take advantage of the opportunities brought by mobile commerce, businesses must face major challenges in terms of security and technical infrastructure.

To survive and develop, businesses need to constantly innovate, improve products and services as well as build effective marketing strategies. In addition, technical factors are also a problem when developing mobile commerce. The diversity of operating systems (iOS, Android, Windows), the diversity of mobile device lines and the difference in structure and user interface require businesses to be flexible as well as have extensive technical knowledge.

Finally, security and privacy are also important issues in mobile commerce. Personal information leaks and cyberattacks can cause serious damage to both consumers and businesses.

Therefore, businesses and e-commerce platforms need to invest in security measures and comply with data protection regulations when deploying mobile commerce applications. In the future, businesses focusing on applying new technologies and improving shopping experiences will continue to promote the development of mobile commerce in Vietnam, creating sustainable steps for the digital economy.
