At the beginning of the reenactment of the ritual, an elder read a proclamation about the country's chaotic situation, the Qing invaders' invasion, and the need for a wise king to save the country. King Quang Trung ascended the throne "in response to the mandate of heaven and the will of the people". Then there was a scene of the king commanding the Tay Son soldiers to practice, then giving the order to march north to defeat 200,000 Qing troops, liberating Thang Long citadel on the occasion of the Ky Dau New Year (1789).
