
From early morning, the atmosphere around Van Lang Lake was very exciting with the participation of athletes and enthusiastic cheering from locals and tourists.
The Viet Tri City Open Rowing Competition is an annual activity of Phu Tho Province, organized to restore, preserve and honor the unique cultural values of rowing art. Thereby, assessing the level of rowers, as well as the rowing movement of the city and districts in the province, contributing to promoting the development of the traditional rowing sport of the Ancestral Land.

This year’s rowing competition has 9 teams with 270 athletes from the districts of Thanh Thuy, Tam Nong, Doan Hung, Cam Khe and Viet Tri city (5 teams). The teams compete in 2 rounds at a distance of 2.6km including: The qualifying round has 3 races, each race has 3 teams; 3 first teams in the 3 races and the second team with the best results will enter the final round.

The rounds took place in an exciting atmosphere with the cheers of the audience and the sound of drums and trumpets. After fierce competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Bach Hac team (Viet Tri city). The second prize went to Doan Hung district team. The third prize went to Tam Nong and Cam Khe districts.
The expanded rowing competition has added a variety of colors to the Hung Temple Festival in 2025, affirming cultural values that are meaningful to the community and last over time. In addition, the competition contributes to introducing and promoting a countryside where people always aspire to rise up and are determined to conquer the rivers.
