Mrs. Ho Thi Mui (57 years old, granddaughter) is living with Men's mother. She said that her mother's health is very good, she rarely gets sick, and she often walks around and doesn't stay in one place.
According to Mrs. Mui, Men's mother does not like dishes with water such as: rice noodles, porridge, soup, ... but only likes to eat dry food. Banh chung and banh tet must be fried before Mother can eat them.
"Every meal, she eats a full bowl of rice and must have a can of Red Bull to be satisfied, three meals a day like that regularly," said Mrs. Mui.
Not only living happily and healthily, Van Thi Men's mother also loves smoking Phong Lai cigarettes, a famous brand of tobacco from her hometown of Quang Thai.
The leader of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Thua Thien Hue province said that the Department has been taking care of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Van Thi Men for more than 20 years. She is one of more than 20 Mothers still alive and is currently among the oldest in the province.
It is known that Van Thi Men's mother had only one child who was a martyr and was awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother by the state in 1994. She herself was also a person who contributed to helping the revolution and war invalids and was awarded the First Class Resistance Medal.
