The Migaloo M5 is a 165-meter superyacht that doubles as a large submersible vessel, designed to the owner's liking. When passengers no longer want to enjoy the view above the sea, they can control the Migaloo M5 to dive below sea level. On the exterior, several pressure chambers are distributed throughout the ship, helping to support the double-hull structure. Inside the main pressure chamber, the owner can find two small submarines that serve as auxiliary underwater vehicles, Design Boom reported on January 28.
According to Migaloo, their M5 superyacht and submersible comes with all the right systems and waterproof escape equipment to protect all passengers in case of emergencies above and below the water. The M5 can also accommodate aircraft, with a helipad on the aft deck and a helicopter hangar in a pressurized compartment. In addition to helicopters, it can carry drones, hot air balloons, SUVs, trucks, and pickup trucks, all of which are safely stored inside the yacht when submerged.
The exterior and interior styling of the superyacht is up to the owner. The design team, led by CEO Christian Gumpold, can guide the owner to design and fit out the M5 with any amenities they want, from water sports to adventure areas. Owners can opt for satellite TVs, interactive entertainment rooms and even an outdoor cinema.
When the superyacht is at sea, its powerful WiFi connection allows passengers to surf the web both above and below the water’s surface. At night, the M5 glows in the dark with fluorescent green lights, helping to signal its location if the vessel strays off course.
