It is known that the XL01 package for the construction of 2 railway tunnels is an important package of the Khe Net Pass railway renovation project on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line, implemented with ODA capital.
The package is worth more than 550 billion VND, located in Huong Hoa and Kim Hoa communes, Tuyen Hoa district, Quang Binh province.
Of which, tunnel 1 is 620m long and is expected to be built in 23 months.
Tunnel 2 is 393m long and is expected to be built in about 13.5 months, with a tunnel width of 10m, designed according to grade I railway tunnel standards.
The Il Sung - Deo Ca joint venture won the international bid, becoming the contractor for the construction of package XL01. This is an important milestone establishing Deo Ca's participation in the construction of railway infrastructure.
Boost investment resources
Not only the Khe Net railway tunnel project, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, General Director of Deo Ca Group, said that this enterprise is also closely coordinating with Lao partners to develop a pre-feasibility study report for the Vung Ang (Vietnam) - Vientiane (Laos) project, section Vung Ang - Tan Ap - Mu Gia, as required by the Ministry of Transport.
In addition to highway projects, recently, Deo Ca Group has strengthened cooperation and promoted investment of resources to participate in railway infrastructure projects.
Previously, in October 2023, the Ministry of Transport issued an official dispatch approving the consortium of Deo Ca Group - Lao Petroleum Trading Company as the investor to propose the project, prepare the investment proposal dossier, and report on the pre-feasibility study of the Vung Ang (Vietnam) - Vientiane (Laos) railway project, Vung Ang - Tan Ap - Mu Gia section under the PPP method.
The deadline for submitting project proposal documents to the Railway Management Board is set before October 10, 2024.
The Vung Ang - Tan Ap - Mu Gia section has a total length of about 103km, including 8 stations with a total investment of 27,485 billion VND.
This is an important project, part of the overall Vung Ang - Vientiane railway project with a total length of nearly 555km, spanning the territories of Vietnam and Laos. It is one of the priorities of the two governments, demonstrated in the implementation of high-level agreements between the two Parties and two States on economic development and infrastructure development.
Since early 2023, at the invitation of PTL Holding Group (Laos), Deo Ca Group has participated in researching and proposing the Vung Ang - Vientiane railway project.
It is worth mentioning that Deo Ca is not the first unit interested in approaching the Vientiane - Vung Ang railway line, but has made certain contributions to creating positive changes for this railway project.
Sharing more, according to the leader of Deo Ca Group, the railway network planning for the period 2021 - 2030 has determined to upgrade 2,440km of existing railway lines, complete 2,362km of new railway lines, with a vision to 2050 to have 6,354km of railway lines in the planned national network. "On that basis, in addition to expressway projects, investment in railway infrastructure is identified as a new direction for Deo Ca Group in the next 5-10 years," Mr. Tran Quang Vinh affirmed, and at the same time said that, anticipating high-speed railway and urban railway projects, in January 2024, Deo Ca Group coordinated with Deo Ca Research and Training Institute to open a specialized training program in Railway - metro construction.
The training modules will combine theory and construction practice, meeting the requirements of businesses for the immediate goal of completing the North-South high-speed railway and long-term orientation for the development of the country's railway - metro in the future.
"Recently, Deo Ca Group has organized practical research on the railway - metro training process of advanced countries such as Singapore, China, Japan... through schools such as Singapore Institute of Technology, Hiroshima School of Business Administration (Japan) to select and "import" training programs and experts.
We also cooperate with experienced units from China, Japan, Korea... to learn technology, prepare modern equipment, and strengthen capacity to participate in bidding for railway infrastructure projects," Mr. Vinh shared.
