Accordingly, on the evening of May 3, 2024 at the Martyrs' Monument in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee to organize a projection of the painting "Dien Bien Phu Campaign" using 3D technology to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

The Dien Bien Phu victory is vividly depicted through the Dien Bien Phu murals.

This is a panoramic painting that recreates the heroic history, helping people in the country and international friends to truly feel and understand more about the process and historical significance of the Dien Bien Phu victory - a brilliant milestone of the nation. The panoramic painting of the Dien Bien Phu campaign is painted with oil paint, with 4,500 characters, 132 m long, 20.5 m high, 42 m in diameter and a total area of ​​3,225 m 2 , this is the largest mural in Southeast Asia and is among the largest murals in the world. With the desire that all Vietnamese people at home and abroad will turn to Dien Bien Phu to remember, show gratitude and recall the tragic and heroic days of the nation's history; helping today's young generation understand more about the glorious historical milestone and the aspiration for peace and independence of the nation, the Ministry of Information and Communications has deployed the projection of the 3D painting "Dien Bien Phu Campaign" in Hanoi. This is a new media method that applies digital technology with a combination of effects, colors and vivid sounds, helping people in the country and international friends feel and understand more about the glorious milestone of the nation in the most intuitive and vivid way. 3D Mapping is a technique that uses light to create a 3D effect on the surface it contacts to create image blocks in three-dimensional space. 3D mapping can be understood as a combination of 3D and filmmaking technology through building models with a size ratio 100% similar to real objects, combining 3D sound and light effects to show to viewers. With these features, the Ministry of Information and Communications for the first time deployed the application of modern 3D Mapping technology to show the Panorama picture "Dien Bien Phu Campaign", promising to bring viewers deep emotions before a vivid, heroic and tragic space; for viewers to see the whole picture of the 56-day Dien Bien Phu campaign. The 3D Mapping projection program of the Panorama painting "Dien Bien Phu Campaign" is expected to go through 4 segments (The projection will start with a 6-minute introduction to the content, then the lights will turn on throughout the space. And the audience will have 20 minutes to enjoy the painting with the guidance of music in each segment.) The program of projection of the Dien Bien Phu painting using 3D technology will take place until May 5, serving the public in Hanoi. The Panorama painting "Dien Bien Phu Campaign" is a massive work of art with an area of ​​over 3,000m2, painstakingly created by 200 talented artists. The projection of the 3D painting "Dien Bien Phu Campaign" in Hanoi is an activity of special significance in the work of displaying, promoting and disseminating history, contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism, inspiring gratitude, love of peace and freedom for the young generation, and at the same time affirming the position and importance of the Dien Bien Phu Victory in the history of the nation.
