At Song Cong II Industrial Park, businesses have paid attention to planting many trees, contributing to creating landscapes and protecting the environment.

In Song Cong City, there are currently 2 industrial parks, 4 large industrial clusters and about 550 enterprises operating in various fields.

In order to ensure the safety and health of workers and residents in the area, the city has recently encouraged and mobilized enterprises to actively innovate production lines and apply science and technology to minimize environmental impacts. During the operation of enterprises, authorities regularly check water and air samples, invest in the construction of storage and treatment areas for waste and waste; plant trees, and maintain environmental hygiene at the workplace. At the same time, investors are required to carry out environmental protection work from the planning stage, investing in the construction of technical infrastructure, especially centralized wastewater treatment systems; preventing, responding to and overcoming environmental incidents, etc.

With the characteristics of having large industrial parks and clusters in the area, in recent times, Song Cong City has coordinated with the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board to advise on the development and implementation of coordination regulations in the field of environmental protection, which have been approved by the Provincial People's Committee since 2021.

On that basis, up to now, the People's Committee of Song Cong City has directed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with specialized agencies of the province, communes, wards and related units to organize 132 inspections to resolve people's opinions and recommendations on the situation of enterprises causing environmental pollution; organize environmental quality monitoring and assessment at 10 production and business establishments in the area. Thereby, 9 cases of administrative violations were detected and handled, with a total fine of 276 million VND.

For example, in response to people's complaints about waste discharge causing environmental pollution in Zone B, Song Cong I Industrial Park, Song Cong City People's Committee has directed specialized agencies to coordinate with the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, Bach Quang Ward, Thai Nguyen Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Joint Stock Company to inspect and verify units and enterprises that discharge waste, causing wastewater to flow into the surface drainage system of Zone B and overflow into La Vang stream, belonging to Doc Dai residential group, Bach Quang Ward, affecting people's production.

After inspection and assessment, the authorities have issued a decision to administratively sanction Thanh Manh Industrial Wood and Construction Joint Stock Company, Thai Nguyen Branch, for not storing production waste in accordance with regulations and requesting remedial measures according to regulations.

Mr. Ta Viet Duyen, Deputy Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Song Cong City, said: Timely detection and strict handling of violations contribute to raising environmental protection awareness of enterprises. From 2021 to May 2023, the city has 73 new investment projects and has fully implemented environmental procedures according to the law. The city has also established 34 models of household waste collection in the area, raising the rate of collection and treatment of urban household waste to about 95%.

Determining that the strong development of industrial zones and clusters will lead to impacts on the environment, therefore, in the coming time, Song Cong City will continue to promote propaganda and education to raise awareness of environmental protection among the people. The city also focuses on planning work, prioritizing the attraction of high-tech, environmentally friendly projects, towards green growth, sustainable development...
