Akram Afif - the player dubbed the Mohamed Salah of Qatar by social media fans due to his resemblance to the Liverpool star - continued to make his mark at the 2023 Asian Cup. The home team's star earned a penalty when fouled by a Jordanian defender in the first half. He himself successfully converted the penalty to help Qatar open the scoring.
