Neymar has now returned to Brazil after suffering a hamstring injury that will keep him out for four to six weeks. "Unfortunately, it's not a simple injury and Neymar seems to have a muscle problem rather than a knee problem," Al Hilal coach Jorge Jesus said.

This is Neymar's second injury since joining Al Hilal for a transfer fee of more than $90 million from PSG in August 2023. Last time, he was out for more than a year, only recently returning to play 2 matches from the bench, but he could continue to be out until the end of 2024.

Despite the huge disappointment of not contributing much to Al Hilal, Neymar still does not regret moving to Saudi Arabia to play.

"The opportunity to play here and live in a country like this is very important for everyone. That's why I always say that I am very welcome here. I am very happy and I am sure that things will only get better. I am sure other star players will come here. I believe that many people will have the opportunity to come here, and I think everyone should have the opportunity to experience what I experienced here," he said.

Neymar is currently involved with Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2034 World Cup. This is why, despite not playing for Al Hilal, the 32-year-old Brazilian star is still holding his own.

Neymar is expected to return to competition from early 2025. Whether coach Jorge Jesus will include him in the Al Hilal club's roster for the second leg of the Saudi Pro League is still open.

Meanwhile, Brazil coach Dorival Junior said he will recall the star for the March 2025 competition. The Brazilian team is about to play two matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in South America against Venezuela on November 15 and Uruguay on November 20, hoping to gain more positive results to consolidate their current 4th place and qualify for the finals.

Ronaldo wants to enjoy the present happy moment

Cristiano Ronaldo has just been honored by the Portuguese Football Federation for his achievements in more than 200 appearances for the national team. At the ceremony, Ronaldo admitted for the first time that reaching the milestone of scoring 1,000 goals in his career was too big and challenging.

"To be honest, I am the one who has to take responsibility for this. In life, in some things, including football, I am living in the moment. I think that is the most important thing. We don't need to think long term. I can't think long term anymore. So, live in the moment like now and enjoy it.

"I said publicly that I wanted to score 1,000 goals, and now people think that's all I want. But my goal is just to enjoy the moment, to see what my legs can do. If I reach 1,000 goals, great, if not, then no one has scored more goals than me anyway," Ronaldo said.

At 39, Ronaldo has now scored a total of 908 career goals for club and country. Messi (37) is second with 850 goals. Both players are still playing for their national teams. Their goal could be to participate in the 2026 World Cup, their last appearance in the most prestigious arena of world football.
