Review of the movie Bunny's Boyfriends (Crushology 101)

"Bunny Boyfriends" is a drama adapted from the webtoon of the same name, promising to bring a gentle school romance story with a cast of "top visual" male leads. However, right from the first episodes, the drama has faced a wave of fierce criticism because of its clichéd script, stiff acting, and outdated character thinking.

Predictable plot, nothing new

The film revolves around Bunny (Roh Jeong Eui) - An innocent college girl caught up in a love mess with 5 guys:

Jae-yol (Lee Chae Min): The romantic designer who has the most obvious chemistry with Bunny.

Ji-won (Jo Joon Young): "Friendzone" best friend, silently sacrifices.

A-rang (Kim Min Chul): An energetic sports boy, Jae-yol's formidable rival.

The rich young master (Kim Hyun Jin) and the sculptor (Hong Min Gi): Two supporting characters who lack depth.

Although advertised as a "multi-layered love story", the script falls into a rut: forced encounters, illogical conflicts (for example, dividing male characters into "ugly = mean, handsome = perfect"). This makes the film criticized as "old-fashioned" and "disrespectful of appearance".

Acting does not go with appearance

Roh Jeong Eui (Bunny) is a rare bright spot with natural acting, but not enough to save the whole movie.
